The contrast of what used to be vs what is now, not saying it’s terrible, but imagine what it could be given what they had 1500+ years ago. Also, just embrace whatever comes, - you might not want to be a leader but you might have to be! In the stories, heroes don’t usually choose the sacrifices they have to make.
