Hey guys over on youtube I made a poll asking about what I should watch next and they picked Game of thrones.
I've heard of game of thrones but never have watched the show. This is a very long show and a HUGE commitment if I were to do it so I need to know that you guys and Youtube are on the same page in terms of if anyone will watch with me.
I tried Avatar the last Airbender on here and it didn't do too well.
I tried Fall out and That didn't do well either.
I tried The Witcher S3 and nobody watched with me besides like 5 people.
So yeah western Shows do not do well on here. It does make sense since most of you are here for Korean content , but it's really refreshing for me to watch other content besides Korean so I don't just put myself in one box. So my concern is that I'll start this series and have nobody watching with me.
If you would watch the whole show with me Please comment down below so I know just how many would be interested. If there is no interest then I will NOT be posting my full uncut reactions on here. I'll just post my cut versions on youtube only cause I know that they will do somewhat well over there.

To be honest with you, I haven't finished yet (I'm still towards the end of s2 but I took a break from it, not bc it's bad, but bc I got distracted with other shows as usual LOL but I loved it from where I left off) but I'm 100% willing to watch the whole thing with you! It's such an interesting, complex show and it would be interesting to see your thoughts/reactions towards it. :')

You'll have to prepare yourself for it but imo outside of all the contrasting opinion on the latest seasons GOT remains one of the best pieces of television to have ever been created so I say go for it, you won't regret it.

2024-10-17 11:06:56 +0000 UTCFor me... it's a toss up on whether or not it is worth it. Some things that people might find these things (no spoilers, I promise) to be deal breakers: 1. Seasons 1-3 have (imo) have so much gratuitous nudity and a weird nonchalance about depicting sexual violence. It gets better on towards the back half of the series but keep in mind that the first half of the series aired before MeToo happened and before tehre was a mainstream understanding of the harms in depicting sexual violence casually. 2. The last season was almost universally considered a disappointment. 3. The women characters on the show... were definitely written by men. So the development of some of the female characters... often centers around men. Again this was a show that aired before there was a mainstream understanding of a story with either a male or female gaze. Reasons to watch anyway: 1. It truly is a ride and the plot of the show is truly exciting. 2. It is a pop culture tent pole. Everyone (seemingly) has an opinion on the show--whether or not they watch it. Even if you end up hating the series, you will likely get a firmer understanding of the many references to the show that exist in pop culture. As for me, if you plan on watching it, I will watch with you but probably only start watching once you are in season 3. The first two seasons' sexual violence is honestly too much for me.

The North still remembers. The Lanisters still always pay their debts. If you watch the show, you'll understand what that means. Arya Stark is still one of my favorite characters in literary history and weekly serial genre history. I think if you watch this show, people will come.

2024-10-13 07:06:28 +0000 UTCI mean, it is a huge commitment, i think you should watch it on your own so you can react to more things, but to be fair and being completely honest, i did not watch the whole show, since i saw incest happening i just couldn't watch it, so hence my opinion. But being objective i do thing it's going to take you a lot of time and i believe it will prevent you from watching a lot of other new things coming.

So, it will take ages to finish and ur schedule is already packed. However, if you like it and willing to commit to it, I am sure many will watch it with you. 👍🏻

I watched the first few seasons as they came out, and after a while I realized all the gore/s*xual violence/general bleakness was making it feel like something to get through rather than something to enjoy. Obviously bazillions of people disagree with me lol, and there was some spectacular acting! Grimdark is just not my thing.
