I think they really do a great job of showcasing how there are so many ways parents can f-up their kids. There's so many kinds of neglect in this, Dongeun's mom being one example and Yeonjin's mom being another. Both bad moms in my eyes, just in different tax brackets and different ways the neglect affected their kids.
