Added 2023-12-31 03:12:06 +0000 UTCHey guys! so as most of you know last year I posted my end of year video for my favorite drops and unfortunately the video was met with a lot of people angry at me for my picks because people they wanted was not included. i thought long and hard about it and I just don't feel safe posting it on youtube. I shouldn't have to worry about someone getting mad at me for my favorite songs, and i shouldn't have to turn off the comments. I want to share our lists together in a healthy manner and i don't feel safe to do that on my channel. maybe in the future.
so here are my top picks for 2023! this was so hard! there's sooo many great comebacks to year.

Sadly, 2023 was not a good kpop year for me. I did like a few releases, but not nearly as much as the previous years and stopped listening to title tracks and albums pretty fast too. Even my Spotify rewind reflected that. It's sad because a lot of my favorite groups had comebacks and released albums (which I still bought), but nothing truly hit me (except maybe like...3 songs). Hopefully 2024 will have releases that are a bit more to my taste.

I also really love Sweet venom- enhypen, talk saxy, watch it and lalalala! My other favorite B-sides would be I don't understand but I luv you- seventeen, still a monster- enhypen, not over you- taemin. cover me- stray kids, Dune- Ateez, We know- Ateez (basically the entire album tbh XD) so many good songs this year! thanbk you for showing us your top songs! <3

I don't know why people get so mad when others don't feel the same way they do. I think that videos like this are actually a great way to get a feel for someone's musical tastes. Besides, whether you include all the artists that you react to or not, it is quite clear that you love them all, an immense amount, and I am grateful for that. Especially when you have @ssholes in the comments constantly!

There were a couple of b-side picks you had which I'd almost forgotten about but I realised I really did like them a lot - P1Harmony's Love Me for Me, and Shownu x Hyungwon's whole album as well. It was nice to rediscover these and more, so to speak! Some of my other personal favourite songs from this year include 7PM (BSS), In Bloom (ZB1), Busted (Woodz), Killer (Key), Fly (Cravity), Back to the City (Kep1er), Firework (&TEAM), Feel Me (Golden Child), Rose Blossom (H1-KEY), Love Effect (ONF), Turn It Off (NINE.i), I Am (IVE), Time Difference (Infinite) and Sirius (The Wind). The Wind are my favourite rookies of the year, they had some excellent music IMO although all the rookie groups this year were so strong.

2023-12-31 04:17:39 +0000 UTCi think SM just really hit the nail on the head when it comes to catchiness. sometimes i think ppl don't count it as a factor as to why songs are enjoyable, bc there is such a thing as annoying catchy, but it does do the job occasionally! i was kinda like you when it first came out bc it does sound ridiculous lmao, but i guess im just one of many that does find catchiness to be a good thing here specifically. to each their own!

Sometimes I just be walking around singing it without thinking cause it gets stuck in my head so easily, even tho I have only listened to the song like 2 or 3 times. It's just not the type of song I'd put on my daily playlist. I also still think nct deserves the hype and attention for the song because it is clear how much talent and charisma they have.

Your opinions and preferences when it comes to music should be respected and I'm sorry that people haven't been doing that. With that being said I appreciate you posting it on here for us! It's my first year as a full Kpop stan and it's been so much fun! I cant choose favorite songs as there are so many but there are 5 groups I've been obsessed with. Stray Kids (My first group and ult), Ateez, Seventeen, Xdinary Heroes, and BoyNextDoor. Wishing you a good end-of-year season and a great start to the new one.
