I think that its wild that this topic is still being discussed, even in the modern era of western philosophy (i.e., roughly 1600 AD/CE - 1800 AD/CE, beginning with Rene Descartes and ending with Immanuel Kant), Rene Descartes was recognizing the cultural nuance between European folks since long before it was a widely studied or established subject. He stated explicitly that when you are in a different culture you are ethically obligated to adhere to the customs of that culture. Descartes spent a lot of time in Germany advising the French on building siege engines to besiege German castles and still immersed himself with the local people and culture in a curious and open manner.
I genuinely wish that more people were of an open mind, the ability to observe and draw a unique conclusion in the response of a new stimuli is a skill that should be encouraged in all humans, in my opinion.

To be fair Aba, you being black might be the most important reason why you get spoken to in Portuguese automatically in lusophone countries tbh, more than you carrying yourself in a type of way. Lol

I've never been to Japan, but one of the rules I learned about their public transit is absolute silence in the train.

Japan has the kindest, most polite people I’ve ever encountered and Tokyo is super tourist friendly. That guy must’ve been incredibly belligerent to get that Japanese man to react like that.
