The boys just finished their tour in Japan and literally flew right after to Hongkong to attend Mama but still manages to show a fantastic performance. The collars they're wearing also has a story. There's a VCR played before this performance, still linking to the original EXO storyline. Kai's collar malfunction that's why it was red the whole show. When Sehun threw his collar, it hit a fan and said it was the best thing happened to her LOL. Chen got wardrobe malfunction but still hitting those high notes as if nothing happened. Baekhyun was supposed to show his mechanical heart (exo storyline) that lights up, but due to his excessive sweating it broke before his solo performance. You can see the "heart" fell as he dances. Thank you for always supporting EXO! 🫶🏾

Yes, ever since I knew about Kyungsoo spraining his ankle at the start of the perf and then endured it until the end was just so hard for me to watch this clip. Also, its just new to me that it was a long performance (i thought they just performed growl). So, it really made sense how Kyungsoo fainted at the back stage after that. For sure, it was so painful for him that time, but he endured it.

Once you know Kyungsoo pulled off the whole thing after spraining his ankle at the start of the performance, and fainting when he finally got backstage at the end, then not making it to accept the award, but showing up the next day at the airport with crutches and a huge smile for the fans, you cannot focus on anything else the whole performance. I wouldn't have blamed him if he had bowed out at the start of the performance but he soldiered it.

Chen indeed had a wardrobe malfunction that day, his pants ripped right at the beginning of the Transformer, but it's amazing how quickly and adeptly he resolved this issue! I mean, he noticed right away, but kept his cool and found a convenient pause in the choreo, and even managed to take off and tie his jacket in time; he carried himself like a true professional. I noticed this only when watching fancams afterwards! Before that, I simply thought he did it because it got too hot or just for style lol :D it looked so natural and even fashionable when he tied that jacket around his waist like a skirt. Chen is very clever.

Maybe you didn't know, in Baekhyun's solo dance, when he takes off his shirt, there should be a light inside his chest like an iron man's heart. You got most of their performances the only things you missed were their 2012 performance, and the 1st half of their 2014 performance where they performed black pearl and (tell me) what is love (not what is love haha the one that kyungsoo released as a station in 2016 I don't remember if you've reacted to it). The things around their necks in the 2016 performance are explained in the vcr that played before their performance but for some reason mnet never uploaded it...but you can find it by searching for exo mama 2016 vcr. 2017 was the last year they went to any award shows and their power performance always makes me emotional because of how exo and exols were mistreated by mama that year and the performance was like an f u performance to mama (imo) and yeah...but thank you again for your reaction! hopefully you react to more exo soon ^^

I was here since the MAMA 2016 only but my god exo is really THAT group. chen did have a malfunction btw, he ripped his pants and still slayed, insane. exo stopped attending mama after 2017 cause of how that day played out for both them and the fans at the venue. exols don't have a good relationship with the show anymore anyway. They attended gayos and gda in 2018 and stopped everything else after that year (started enlisting too, so the indefinite hiatus was effective). Also, just a tidbit in case anyone didn't know, the year-end stages of exo usually hinted at their next comeback- concepts or their lore. The 2016 one showing baekhyun in the red was foreshadowing his role in kkb/power mvs. it was such a fun time, dissecting everything after the show!!

2023-12-04 20:58:19 +0000 UTComg the same happened to chanyeol in 2014. he’s not in his best condition, he exited the stage mid performance and looked very out of breath, the staff was fanning him but he returned on stage and at the end he almost collapsed on stage 😭 it was so hard to watch and very worrying at that time :(

2023-12-04 16:34:14 +0000 UTCThe 2013 mama is very hard to watch especially if y’know what happened to D.O. during and after the performance 😭 Apparently he was injured that time and was in sm pain (hence you can see he was limping on some of the choreos) and he passed out cus of sm pain at the backstage right after their performance 🥺
