This is a new type of assets I'm calling techniques, which have similar mechanical vibes to rituals, but are not supernatural, taking some liberties from the ritual formulas.

Technique was in my mind also. I like this a lot more. Still a bit unusual but immediately understandable ☺️

2020-12-03 07:11:36 +0000 UTCThat's precisely why I used it: it is not that common and broad enough for its meaning in this context. "Skill" sounds cliché and bland; "power", too wacky. Ironsworn goes against clichés and used terms never seen (at least not that much) in other systems; that's why the asset type is coined Path, instead of Classes; Herbalist instead of Healer, Wright instead of Blacksmith, Storyweaver instead of Bard... I might create a poll because I have other alternatives to name this kind of assets. Thank you, Toby. Your feedback is always so useful.

2020-12-01 21:55:30 +0000 UTCYeah I think faculty is almost never used that way. At least to my knowledge. But during all my years with video games and board games I never came across this term used for powers/skills/abilities.
