Here we go, the E55 hits the Autobahn!
I think this is one of the quickest projects we've done. It's everything I hoped for, great to work on, and it didn't need a major engine overhaul! It's now fully serviced & spruced up, and ready to be used.
In other news, I received a deposit for project Rottweil. I didn't think I'd be selling that car ever, but I need to free up some finances, and I got the price that I wanted, so sadly, it's going. I love that car so much, and the whole project, how it went from a 1600 euro scrap car to an ultimate, daily sleeper. I have a special bond with that car, and my hope is that one day, I'll be able to buy it back. If I could, I would keep them all, but I have too many cars as it is. E39 Touring is one of the best cars all around, and I am planning to keep Alpina B10 V8S for now.
This means the E55 will stick around for a bit and take over daily driving duties. Not sure for how long though. My daily commute is now 50 to 100 km a day, and E55 isn't exactly good on fuel. The good thing about project Rottweil is that I can go flat out on the Autobahn, and it'll consume around 13 L/100 km, which is amazing given the power that it has.
If I were smart, I'd get a diesel, but that thought alone gives me nausea.
Anyway, that's the small update. Right now, I gotta assemble new racks that arrived and finally organize the shop a bit, and then it's the final bit of mechanical restoration on project Suonenjoki.
Have a great Sunday everyone!
