Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy S2 23

Comments

well, the story is not about how powerful he is in relation to regular people at it's core relay. It's more of a worldbuilding story, akin to how overlord is. The major problem, is that the overall power level is way higher, and that the anime is complete trash at translating the novel to anime format. The story is just slow in format to begin with, but that is due to the MASSIVE amount of world building and intrigue it contains. It also has a shit load of side stories that all are connected with the main story, and other points of view. And motoko being OP compared to the heroes/demons is not relay that important, other than for setting up world building, and how the world handles him. As his actual adversary, is the goddess herself

I hate hate hate that the subtitles use "Sorcerer." Majin should be "Devil," which far better fits Makoto's results and traumas he leaves his enemies with. I mean, Emma is a sorcerer, but we don't see her making any maps obsolete lately, right? Now, a Devil sounds like a being EVERYONE can be terrified of. That's our boy right here. If he was a hopeless dweeb little bitch like Trashmoki, that world could already be sucking Makoto's toes and walking around in lingerie singing his praises. Well, not really. Makoto hasn't met everyone who would have something to say about those sort of behaviors.

I get where ya'll were coming from about Root/Luto, but he does have great purpose in the overarching story. Personally, I found him more important and exciting in the novel version. I guess the anime made him a bit too quirky to take as seriously.

The novels go into details about how/what things were a possible threat for Makoto, but all in all yes he is ridiculously powerful. The show isn't really about how strong he is, rather how he evolves in a world of conflict and corruption that is constantly dragging him into things he wants nothing about. That's what makes it interesting imo

I'm still enjoying it, but I don't mind talking and everyday life of isekai animes. I think the most interesting aspect of this will be to see if makoto will challenge the goddess more. But I definitely see your point, against mere mortals makoto is just too powerful now.

Main issue is Makoto is too OP now. S1 at least had him as a little weak where he got hurt sometimes but S2 is like, he hasn't been physically hurt at all. Hate to say it, but it gets less interesting unless it's something like Eminence in Shadow where it is a running joke.
