2023-03-09 09:22:36 +0000 UTCThe Claire/Cid relationship is along the lines of she wants him to be stronger because she does love him, so she is very hard on him to the point of tormenting him to make him stronger. She's like a tsundere brocon, but not a romantic brocon (what have I done with my life where I can type a sentence like that...). In this case she wanted him to watch her match both because she wanted him to see what it meant to be strong (because she sees potential in him to be strong, but thinks he isn't) but also because she just wants her little brother to see her look cool. As with some other things, it comes off more clearly in the manga. There will be more of Claire and Cid in season 2 which should make it clearer (based on my knowledge from the manga).
