Borrasca FreqShift

Borrasca FreqShift.amxd

Borrasca FreqShift is a keytracked audio effect for Max for Live.

This device can be put anywhere in the fx chain, and it'll automatically detect MIDI input from the track it's on. It then keytracks the amount of frequency shifting to the MIDI note's hertz value.

Keytracked frequency shifting mixed in with the dry signal produces a "squishy" sound with even harmonics. The dry/wet knob is set to 50% by default for this purpose.

The +/- button toggles between positive and negative values for the shifting amount. It's set to negative by default, since it usually gets better sounding results.

You can adjust the keytracking with ratio, semitone offset, and glide controls. The keytracking will adhere to pitch bend automation from the current or selected MIDI track, and you can adjust the device's pitch bend range.

The glide works with a mono legato principle.

You can change the MIDI input from the current track to any other MIDI track from the "Sidechain" tab. This is useful if you're placing the device on an audio track, since it won't get any MIDI from audio tracks.

The "Manual" tab disregards all MIDI input and instead opens a semitone dial to control the speed of the waveform.

Has only been tested in Live 12, but should work in Live 11. No promises of working in Live 10.
