Winter Bulk: Week 2

I must say, my first week of bulking was a success. I only gained one pound, but I definitely succeeded in expanding my capacity. I’m feeling more jacked and like my muscles have more fuel. Maybe it's all in my head though. 

I’ve been able to stick to my routine which is good. It was hard at first, particularly the protein shakes. It’s one thing to stuff my face- I mean who doesn’t want permission to be totally gluttonous? But then pouring on that thick liquid on top of everything is sometimes too much to handle. My stomach gets so packed that it hurts to sit down or bend over. All I want to do is stretch out on my bed and nap. 

It’s also a lot to digest. I’ve been gassier recently and had some digestion issues. This week I’m going to start blending psyllium husks into my shakes and the extra fiber should help things move along. If I’m putting in extra calories I guess they need to come out as well. 

Altogether, I am in a constant state of bloat. I’ve only gained one pound but I feel bigger, or at least puffier, from all the bloating. Mostly I feel it in my face and hands which seem to be retaining water from all the salty foods and shakes. Sometimes I imagine that if someone dropped me in a body of water I would instantly float from being so bloated. Unless it was right after I ate, then I would surely sink from being so stuffed with food. 

I’m thinking this next week I’m going to start counting calories and grams of protein. The other day I ate what I thought was a large lunch from a local sandwich place but then looked up the calories and was sorely disappointed. The meal was not nearly as hefty as it seemed. Therefore I need to be more conscientious about maximizing every opportunity I have to pack food in.

Plus, it will be a good way to track my progress and make correlations between what I’m eating, how much I’m working out, and how much I’ve gained. I want to see concrete results beyond my measurements and weight from when I first started. Maybe I’ll fuck around and make a little graph to visualize this bulk statistically. 

I want my results to be dramatic. I’m not interested in the slow road to growth, that’s why I’m bulking. This means I have to step it up in every capacity, especially now that my stomach has stretched and my capacity is growing. I have no excuse but to go balls to the wall in getting big fast. I want friends and family to be shocked when they see me.
