The nicknames! The bickering and quips! All the subtle-not-subtle gay! And the quotes from this movie are TOP TIER. "Why don't you take a shot at him?" "Somehow, it just doesn't seem like the right thing to do." ... "It won't match." "It doesn't have to match." (And then later Solo says his tie doesn't match his suit, and he changes it!!) ... "Take it like a pussy." "This is not the Russian way." ... "Super Agent decided to have some fun with three young Italian boys in the bathroom." "They had it coming." ... "It's in and out, no mess, and we both forget about it in the morning" ... "I take top." "I'll take the bottom." (And then they switch!!) ... "I never thought I'd say this. I'm actually quite pleased to see you." "You doing okay, cowboy?" (Also not Illya's look of horror when he finds out how Solo was being tortured.) ... "For a special agent, you're not having a very special day are you?" ... "Absolutely hating working with you, Peril." "You're a terrible spy, Cowboy." This movie is just so so so so good, and I'm in total agreement that it should have become a series. ALSO!! If you get a chance you should find the special features for this movie. They discuss the accent work both of them did, plus talk about how the car chase in the beginning and the end were filmed! (You're correct by the way, they water-planed that vehicle across the water! That was a practical effect!!)

2025-01-30 21:28:05 +0000 UTCAhhh, saw this in the cinema when it came out and my friend almost died laughing at the boat chase/eating the sandwich in the car scene :D This film has so many iconic and gay insinuation scenes, and I absolutly agree with the switch pair. No one can convince me Ilya doesn’t like to be dominated sometimes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯and they do switch in saving each other, and in one upping each other with their specialties. Now I have to go look at my years old wip fanfic that I wrote and never finished years ago... ^^° Also, it was very nice to see and hear German actors, even if only in the side characters. Thank you for this wonderful reaction! <3
