Spanish crime drama musical with a trans main character? This is the kind of ambitious queer filmmaking I've been dying to see.
EDIT: I knew nothing about the film or its production before viewing, and have since heard it was made more from a place of ego and ignorance than anything else. Be sure to view with a critical eye.

OMG, I'm so glad I watched this movie with you. This is such an extraordinary story. So well done in every way. The whole musical aspect was very satisfying. Overall a very brave creation and I have nothing but respect for it. I honestly didn't think I would like it because I saw/heard so many bad reviews about it, so many complaints about bad representation and bad acting/singing, etc... They said they just didn't get why it is winning so many awards. Now I know that it was just matter of the straights being not able to "get it". The straight sis woke group are so confounded and befuddled that they think that their "wokeness" gives them leeway to comment on these issues with some kind of authority. My eyes have been opened. I will never trust their analysis again.
