When you were talking about Marvel finally having a queer main character I was just thinking "What about Loki??" but I don't know if you watched the Loki series or not. If you haven't, it would be awesome if you reacted to it. It's really really good and I think you would absolutely love it. Loki is an icon.

WorldWideLove2000

No announcement on if there will be a sequel, but they submitted AAA as a comedy series for the Emmy awards, which I'm not sold on the comedy part, but whatever. The point is they didn't submit as a limited series. If they had submitted as a limited series the Emmy rules would have meant there wasn't going to be a sequel. The somewhat funky rules are explained here https://variety.com/2024/tv/awards/agatha-all-along-comedy-awards-second-season-1236199054/

EEEE! I have been eagerly awaiting your response; I love the fact that you were just as awestruck as I was at the amazing writing and the sapphic wonder of it all. This show needs a sequel, and it needs some damn Emmys (especially for costuming, writing, direction, and Patti Fucking LuPone). Seriously, go through it and rewatch at some point; it only gets better on a second or third viewing.

Heather

Couple of things before I finally pass out: Agatha saying to Nicky “I cannot heal you. I cannot protect you. I cannot divine when she will return,” and then gathering a coven to walk the road that requires a potions witch, a protection witch and a divination witch just guts me.😭 Also, the bell that Nicky steals is the bell that she uses to start the song with the coven. I’m guessing she couldn’t face him because of the guilt about using their sweet song to lure and kill witches, which she knew he didn’t want. Lastly, the little detail when Rio comes to take him, she makes him go say goodbye to his mother and he gives two pecks on the cheek. One for him and one for Rio. 😢 Highly recommended to rewatch the series at some point. There are so many Easter eggs along the way. Thank you once again for the brilliant watch along. 🙏I’m off to bed now. I’ve started watching Arcane, so I’ll see you lot over on that thread soon. G’night all. ❤️

The Homesick Brit

Just as I’m ready to retire for the night, episodes 8 and 9 post…. Who needs sleep?🤷‍♀️

The Homesick Brit

Episode 8 and 9 are coming?

Sarah

Episode 7 will go down as one of the best episodes not only in an MCU show but for like all of tv... Give Patty Lupone the Emmys already for this role.

Kristian De Luna

These points, and those before them, raise fascinating philosophical ideas and differing opinions on what it means to be a person and alive. My view tends to be fairly reductionist Descartes: "I" think, therefore "I" am. But I believe you are right, and you raise an interesting point that Billy absorbed much of what it meant to be William from all those sources. I hadn't considered that.

Mark Lesney

Every time you’ve said something along the lines of “Did Marvel make this show for ME?!?” I’ve thought of this episode and whispered “Oh my dear, just you wait…” This is perhaps one of the greatest pieces of episodic television ever made. Visually stunning, brilliantly structured on its own, but also as a parenthetical within the series as a whole, the writing, the Writing, the WRITING, and of course Patti LuPone. An iconic and theatrical tour-de-force for and from an icon of the theatre. Both Sasheer and Joe have said that this is their favourite episode. Now we can see why. It never loses its emotional impact, no matter how many times you watch it. I hope everyone responsible is showered with every possible accolade. It was a pleasure to watch along and experience this masterpiece through your astute and awed gaze. ❤️

The Homesick Brit

I was so excited to see your reaction to "if you want straight answers, ask a straight lady" and you did not disappoint!

Kaly

Was Ep. 7 the greatest thing Marvel has ever done? It’s definitely one of them; it’s one of the best TV episodes for sure. I have been *waiting* for you to get to this one. I knew you’d love it!

Heather

I think William is more than a shell - his passions align very closely with Billy's and I have a feeling that he was destined to be the body that an entity like Billy took over. I think a bit of William remains even in muscle memory and as Billy picks up externally from William's friends, family and possessions the life that he had.

Dionne Lakey

I guess the way I think of it, the parents may love this new William as their son, but the child they raised is dead, and if they knew the truth and believed it, they would be horrified. Billy had no choice at the time but to play along. As Lillia told William in the tent, enjoy the now; it's all you have. William's mind no longer has any nows to experience as it no longer exists. I imagine William Kaplan wouldn't know or care about Tommy Maximoff. Also, there is no guarantee that William Kaplan, had he survived, would not get some or all of his own memories back, as Billy starts to do. And he certainly wouldn't be reading minds. None of this, of course, is Billy's fault. He just took over a shell.

Mark Lesney

What I find interesting about this is that there isn’t really much deception going on. The parents think that William survived and has almost total amnesia. And his body does survive and Billy doesn’t remember anything prior to his taking possession of the body. It’s more of a philosophical question if William/Billy before and after the accident should be considered the same person and if there’s a difference between the perceived and actual events in this regard.

Bernhard

Lilia was not possessed when she made the sigil. Agatha says back when we first encounter the sigil that the witch who puts it on you won't remember doing so. Lilia saw Billy's future, put on the sigil (In fear of the Scarlet Witch? To protect him? Who knows?), and then immediately forgot him.

Nicole Mazza

It's quite fun watching this *with* someone who doesn't already know the characters. For those of us who knew who Billy/Wiccan was from the second his boyfriend showed up on his phone, the reveal was cool, but not completely Earth shattering. Seeing it from your vantage was really great!

Megan Valentine

So few people seem to consider the loss of poor William or think of his parents whose real kid has died at such a young age, replaced by a coo-coo in the nest. People are just excited for the reveal. It was not Billy's fault; he just took over an "empty vessel," but I felt how sad it was.

Mark Lesney

My friend commented that somehow he’s the embodiment of two beloved comic characters from very different universes! 🤭

Emily Brown

Your reaction to realizing who "Teen" is was great! I didn't get to experience it as a plot twist, because I already knew about Billy Kaplan/Maximoff from some videos about queer Marvel characters that I'd watched in the past, so the second I saw that Joe Locke was in this I knew he had to be playing Billy because he literally looks exactly like how Billy looks in the comics it's probably the most comic accurate casting I've ever seen!

DysfunctionalCreature

This show is so rewatchable! And I particularly liked episode 6. “Teen”’s identity was basically revealed at the end of the previous episode but this backstory made it far more impactful and gave a lot of depth to the character. As a side note: I don’t know if you’ve already addressed this somewhere but having all episodes of a show or season in one post and updating it regularly has some downsides, mainly that new episodes don’t show up in the Patreon notifications or at the top of your posts. The changes do trigger email notifications but those are easily overlooked and don’t work at all with a “go to Patreon and see what’s new” approach. Emails also don’t show how many episodes were added. When you completed season 3 of The Umbrella Academy (three episodes at once I think), I had to search around a bit to remember which ones I had already watched. Liking a post works well as a read/watched marker. Separate posts for each episode would also make episode-specific comments a bit easier. And if you added all posts for a show to a collection, there shouldn’t be any loss of functionality or ease of use. (Edit: I just had to change “this episode” to “episode 6”, inadvertently proving my point about episode-specific comments.)

Bernhard

It was just as fun to watch your episode 6 reaction as I thought it would be! Joe Locke is about to become a superstar. He’s soooo good in this! So pumped for the next episode 😁 I think I heard the poking the bear scene was improvised. So that’s one take!

Emily Brown

You know, I didn't think I'd care at all about AAA, but it's quickly become a small obsession. Nice one in proving to me that I make quick leaps in judgement about TV shows. This was wonderful.

iamafanfictionfreak

AWesome reaction. And also, you will need to check your screen settings. TVs and monitors come with viewing options for optimal performance. So video games need a different setting than movies which may need a different setting than TV. Some come with blue shade for people who need less glare, etc. we’re so used to just passively watching tv but the screens are now super specific for adaptive and accessibility purposes. Many smart TV/screens can auto switch and some can’t.

Janeka Rector

Thank you for fixing the link, love. ❤️🙏 The level of foreshadowing in this show is astonishing.

The Homesick Brit

Although I agree that the show is overly dark, I do think if you play with your brightness settings you will be okay. I can not watch this on my daughter's TV due to it being so dark, but have no problem on my computer with the brightness boosted. I have been waiting for your reaction to the needle drop, because it is about as perfect as they come. The show really ramps up from here.

percysowner

I agree with other people here saying that the darkness issue is definitely something wrong with your device or whatever version of the episode you downloaded. I watched all of this show on 1/4 of my device's brightness and I could still easily see what was happening, but watching your reaction on the same device at 2/4 I can barely see anything. I think you should check your settings and maybe also try to find a better source to get the episodes from?

DysfunctionalCreature

Absolutely! I wouldn’t have said anything again without the comment that the show was too dark. It’s not, it’s played with bad settings. (Having bright lights behind the screen doesn’t help either, of course.)

Bernhard

I figured that out.

Megan Valentine

The Vidyard link is the one that’s broken. Redirects to wetransfer TUA episode. The Wetransfer link goes to Agatha ep 5

Nick A

The upload is for the wrong video. It's an Umbrella Academy episode.

Megan Valentine

Re the darkness issue - I watched the original show on the same device as I’m watching your video, and it’s so much darker on yours. Is it maybe an issue with your brightness settings?

Chickenlittle

The episode 5 Vidyard link appears to be directing to the wrong stop, FYI

Alicia Marmaros

The links for Ep. 5 both go to WeTransfer. 😔 I’ll check back later to see if the Vidyard link is fixed. Cannot wait for you to see the rest of the season. 🥰

The Homesick Brit

Yay!

Megan Valentine

No worries! I mostly use Patreon as a way to support creators I like and almost never interact with it directly, so I just assumed I was missing something :)

Michael Horniak

Oversight! I apparently forgot to upload/post here first, but it's uploading as we speak. <3

Brittany Diamond

Am I bad at Patreon, or did ep 5 go live on YouTube before Patreon?

Michael Horniak

Pressure does create diamonds. It’s not always a bad thing. Sometimes we need it lol

Jordon Nelson

I am trying to not apply pressure because I know Brittany is doing her best. OTOH, I've been eagerly anticipating the reactions to these episodes.

percysowner

Man Patti lupone was already my favorite, I seen her in New York in the broadway show gypsy.. but shitfire she was amazing in the last episode. So glad they let her do her thing she is an amazing actress, I love the whole cast , each character is so different and defined and it’s just awesome, this is a really different incredible show and Agatha is my future baby mama I’m pretty much in love with her . …

Jordon Nelson

I’m gonna apply pressure cuz I’m ready lol I have no one else but my little girl who watches it with me so yall my watch party and I’m ready to share all the feels with someone who appreciates it as much as I do

Jordon Nelson

When can we expect episodes 5 and 6? No pressure of course. Just courious :)

Silme Elen

Not that this wouldn’t have occurred to you, but why don’t you dim your lights a bit? It is (literally) a very dark show.

Bernhard

this show is so good (this week especially with the 7th ep) NEEDS to win some sort of awards. all the Emmys!

BongoPhone

Just joined your patreon for this episode! I'm so glad i did! Your reactions never disappoint <3

Siti Dee

Ahh gotcha - yeah that was poorly done

Dionne Lakey

omg i was so excited for the 3rd ep that i almost downloaded it using my limited phone data

Alliyah Jane Caelestis

i just finished watching and I'm so happy that you reacted to this and I'm so excited for the next ones

Alliyah Jane Caelestis

See, this is the kind of quality queer representation you expect from Marvel. :D America's a lesbian, which is well-established in the comics. Officially she was queer onscreen, but it clearly didn't come through. (Marvel's fault, not the viewers.) https://www.out.com/film/2022/5/02/kevin-feige-speaks-america-chavezs-queerness-doctor-strange-2

Airawyn

I didn't think her character was lesbian. She did talk about her two mothers. Could this be the point of misunderstanding?

Jennifer Hilliard

I thought the only queerness relating to America was that she had two mothers, not that she herself was queer, but I could be wrong.

Dionne Lakey

Marvel did have a lead lesbian character in America Chavez in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. I think the queerest thing she did was wear a progressive pride flag pin, though. It was great to see her, but it didn't feel like a queer movie. Hopefully that'll change when she (presumably) shows up in Young Avengers. Whereas Agatha All Along is just SO queer from the get-go. You can already see why we wanted you to watch it. :)

Airawyn

I love this show so much. I'm killing time in between episodes making Agatha All Along but explained by John Mulaney videos for youtube. It's not helping, I want the next episodes now. I can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the episodes.

Pam R

I was waiting for you to react to this. ❤️

Megan Valentine

It’s so good!!!

Dani
