Indoor cats in particular can live a really long time, giving us so much time to love them. And I'm seconding the suggestion below - get CareCredit - it's a weird little credit card that is good for things like vet bills, optometry, and dentistry, among others.

His buddy who died a couple of years ago made it to 18. I hope your guys end up as old as mine did. Basically, it could be bad, but there is hope.

Many vets offer CareCredit to help pay the bills, which can spread out the costs at low or no interest. It's been a huge help for me in the past!

When my kid's beloved cat had a terrible eye infection aged more than 15 the vet said I could either pay for a costly operation to take the eye off, or put it to sleep peacefully . Of course I chose the operation . He gave us almost two more years of love and companionship , which my kid is still thankful for to this day . It was totally worth the financial hassle , and quite frankly, it was not even a choice to start with. My parents had their cat until she turned 21, and she had been found in the street in a trash can . There is no reason why Pretty Boy should not live many more long years !!

We've got 4 small voids and a plush grey wannabe void and have been through a lot of health issues over the years. Take care of yourselves and Pretty Boy.

2024-08-01 07:11:13 +0000 UTCMy dog is 15 years and 4 months old and she also got very sick just this month. The breed's life expectancy is 8 years. So, she is already very, VERY old Empress. When ever she even sneezes, we go into panic mode and the vet bills are always huge. I worry too much every time she is sick that I get sick myself. When your pet is sick and hurt it hurts you too, right? Totally there with you guys and remember to take care of yourself too while hugging pretty boy! ❤️🫂

2024-08-01 06:39:21 +0000 UTCI hate that vets and things for animals is so expensive. It shouldn’t be that way because pets are our family. I know how you feel, my dog is my life. I had a begal/jack russell mix dog who had seizures and figuring all that out kind of put me in debt but it didn’t matter. She passed away a few years ago in 2020 at 15, so she ended up having a good life and it was worth it and I’d do it again. Hang in there and keep us updated!! Give pretty boy lovies from me!! ❤️❤️
