2024-05-16 16:01:09 +0000 UTCI think Rojda taught Lisa a lot about how to make this show. I don't think YR would be what it was without her. She chose so many of the great cast and crew and even the director for the last 2 episodes of season 2. She has a clear vision of what this show was and she took Lisa's writing and made a great piece of art. Season 3 is slightly diferent toanally but I think she laid so much good groundwork that eveyone knew what they were doing in the 3rd season. Rojda's ideas to use diverse, mostly female, swedish music for the soundtrack that contrasted with the world but made it modern, was perfect. You're right, she doesn't get as much notice because hse hasn't been involved with promotion since season one except for this documentary.

Yes, it should be studied, and it has plenty of originality, but some credit also goes to SKAM from which Young Royals got inspiration (on multiple levels). If you really haven’t seen it yet, I think you will enjoy it. If you then consider that Omar and Edvin's dialogue was completely improvised because they knew their characters so well, it makes the whole thing even more impressive

You should've watched it in italian for the lulz. 😆 Oh well, next time! I honestly feel like Rojda (creative director Seasons 1&2) doesn't get enough credit. She came up with a lot of the tone and vision that distinguishes Young Royals from so many other shows. It's also why I think S3 tonally feels a bit different from the past 2 seasons: she wasn't a part of S3 😔. What the poor guy had to go through especially this season and then he writes a farewell song in which he gives his "ex-boyfriend" tips on how he can find himself and inner peace?! This third season was a real rollercoaster of emotions and, in my opinion, the best of the entire series. This also applies to the acting of the entire cast, but mostly Omar, especially considering it was his first work in front of the camera!

2024-04-01 09:58:01 +0000 UTCI was sobbing throughout ep5 and 6. Im so devastated that it ended but so happy with the way it ended and how we got our own closure with these characters. The last scene where Wilhelm breaks the fourth wall and looks at us got me crying for the next 5-10 minutes. He looked so happy and he is so happy and following his story throughout the seasons and getting here to that moment made me feel so many things at once. Im so happy I got to watch and be there for this masterpiece all these years. I'm so glad I got to watch this all over again with you, just bc its a pleasure to watch this with someone who truly gets all the perspectives or views of the characters which was so well written. I'm gonna miss them so much but I'm happy we got to see the ending of their story.

There are parts of this that could be turned into graduate degrees. The red light symbolism alone tied to the red rope light in Wille’s room, is enough for a PhD. The whole series is not queer, only the third season but watching the whole thing is such a treat. I really think you might enjoy the storytelling choices and the pacing…etc When SKAM was airing it became a true phenomenon and got remade and adapted in a lot of different countries.
