Homortality: When you and your partner attain such high levels of queer perfection that your lifespans become functionally indefinite.
(P.S. - The announcement for the next series drops tonight <3)
(P.P.S - In eps 36/37, I've just noticed that I basically missed a chunk of footage in the editing process of the uncut version. There are a couple of somewhat brief lulls as I do things like close ep 36 and bring up ep 37, and one moment where a random two second long clip of a reaction comes out of nowhere after I've started my wrap up discussion. I didn't notice these holes until it was way too late to re-edit, re-render, and re-upload so the finale gets to just kinda exist in all its flawed glory. The flaws aren't that bad though, in the grand scheme of possible screw ups. My apologies, it was a special ep that required out of the ordinary editing and I was too djshakldsjfklsdf from the finale to have a brain cell, apparently.)

Don't know if you watched it but there is a youtuber called Avenuex she has done a couple of word of honor videos on lip reading so we know what the actors actually said instead of the cenership dubbed version

2021-11-03 00:15:25 +0000 UTCThe poetry! When Wen KeXing said he could see light on A'Xu and wanted to catch it.... A'Xu created the Window of Heaven in hopes to allow a little light to shine through from heaven via a little window into the darkness of the world below. A'Xu thought it was such a failure..... but A'Xu *is* that Window of Heaven to Lao Wen; he is that window shining light from heaven into Lao Wen's dark world <3

2021-11-02 04:17:38 +0000 UTCI can't believe it's over! Thank you so much for your hard work doing this! It's hard to explain how much I've enjoyed rewatching this with you. I've really been looking forward to the new episodes every week!! Be sure to watch the Cadillac commercial! And the alternate text for Chengling’s explanation at the end. Here’s another link for that: https://la-muerta.tumblr.com/post/650523986807193600/eng-sub-%E5%B1%B1%E6%B2%B3%E4%BB%A4-ep36-original-dialogue-zhou?fbclid=IwAR1GV1G3ajuLP6Biu69UAtx7KSW7lOjKjSNvSf2IogzlzLQ1S_1FAFs95Wk I have to tell you, although I absolutely embrace the Gaywatch part of your brand, I have fallen into the rabbit hole of Chinese Dramas and would love to see you react to some of the better ones. I suspect you would really enjoy them, even if they’re not particularly gay. If only there were more hours in a day, right? Regardless, I’m looking forward to watching the concerts and such. And Guardian!!

Chris
2021-11-01 05:32:27 +0000 UTCFor the last ep, you have to give it to Scorpion King, he played the game well. He just couldn't deal with ZhouZishu/WenKeXing, two chaotic charactors in the end. ZhouZishou owed the personal death of of Pengu; Noone is allowed to live and threaten his sect! Zishu had to personally send Pengu off; that was so poetic!

2021-11-01 05:18:45 +0000 UTCYAS! I totally agree with you: Scorpion King was so envious of WenKeXing/ZhouZishu who cared more for one another than the Glazed Armour! It was so palatable. I feel bad for scorpion king since he only wished for a love so strong as that!

2021-11-01 05:08:06 +0000 UTCA'Xing is so powerful. I think the series showed that well. Her master was Wen KeXing, and she is a bad ass bitch. It was unfortunate that the person she wanted to kill was the head of the Gentle Wind Sect. If it was anyone else, I think she could have totally owned them, and destroyed them. She is an amazingly strong women and I stan her so much! Her brother (We KeXing) had to fullfill his promise to her in the end tho. Props to them. One of the best brother/sister relationships I have seen in a long time in any Asian drama!

2021-11-01 04:37:17 +0000 UTCI was super lucky. When I first watched it, I had no idea what was going to happens. I hate it that many were spoilered on it. It was so lovely to not be spoilered, I am telling you! Such a strong emotional episode the "red wedding". I sincerely believe that A'Xiang and Ning meet up in their next reincarnated lives and have a beautiful happy romance/life together thanks to those bracelets. They deserve it so much <3

2021-11-01 04:20:13 +0000 UTCI think Patreon lost my ep. 36/7 comment. 😫 Let's try this again. A lot of what I was going to say has already been mentioned in other comments, so here are a few other thoughts. I think ep. 36 is the first time we see Zishu initiate a hug with Chengling. Of course, it was because he was saying goodbye before up and leaving to die, so 😥😥😥. Your reaction to the hairpin reveal was s o s a t i s f y i n g!!! Ye Baiyi is a great character. 100+ years old and still capable of growth. Not that he'd admit to it (grumblegrumblegrumble). 😆 There is less fanfic for WoH than for The Untamed (understandable I guess, since WoH is less complex overall), but there are some real jewels out there. Including many that cover the gap between episodes 36 and 37. Like more, um, graphic depictions of the dual cultivation process. Or the aftermath: Zishu dealing with a white-haired and unconscious Kexing; Kexing finally having the time and space to mourn for A'Xiang, etc. So yeah. Bring tissues. My favorite fic to date is Sanguine by jaemyun (https://archiveofourown.org/works/32886652/). In this AU, the "irredeemable" remain unapologetically irredeemable, but you still can't help falling in love with our two murder husbands and rooting for them the entire time. Thank you for all of the work you do to share these reactions with us. I look forward to the concerts and Guardian!

2021-11-01 01:44:50 +0000 UTCEP 35. Let me tell you, I've watched several reactions to this show and every single one has been spoiled in comments about the NingXiang death. And they were all quite pissed about it (understandably) I was spoiled because I was looking at fanfic (like an idiot) while waiting for translated episodes to drop and saw "No beta we die like Ciao Weining and A'Xiang" and just about blew a gasket. However given everything going on with this show you stayed pretty pure throughout which was part of the fun of watching it with you. I hate that Uncle Master Fan and Shixiong Mo got killed for standing up for a'xiang and wei ning. I hope they all wait for Evil Master Mo and gang up on him when he gets to the netherworld. I laughed out loud when A'xu was lying like a bad rug and Wu Xi just grabbed him by the wrist to take his pulse because honestly, they all know him. He's a coward (which I totally get, hay WKX i I'm dying there's nothing you can do and I really don't want you kill yourself mkay? that is not going to go down with WKX ever) and a deserter which is I think his real flaw. I feel like fate is trying to tell ZZS, something pointed about not taking the future for granted and trying to kill himself all the time because every time he tries to kill himself he finds himself with people he doesn't want to leave, even after he thought he'd lost everyone. You're whole sect is gone, surprise! Remember your long lost 2nd shidi? Oops your second Shidi is dead and you're going to kill yourself again, for revenge and because you can't stand the pain of losing him? Should have waited my dude, he's alive and well and happy you're about to break his heart. idiot. The thing about a Romeo and Juliet plot is that if *anyone* had calmed down and waited for a couple days it wouldn't be a tragedy, just a funny story to tell the kids. /romeojuliet are stupid rant. ep 36 I admit I clocked the hairpin, and I loved how layered it was throughout the show. And Angry husband WKX is a treat I wish we got to see more of. And Angry Grandpa Deux Ex Machina Ye Baiyi, normally DEM is not my favorite way for a story to resolve itself, but I think WoH earned it. It is very important that you watch the AvenueX lip reading videos, especially for episode 36. And if at all possible, react to the Live version of the concerts because some of the actors who are going completely fangirl over wenzhou are not the ones you might expect and it's... kind of amazing. I've only seen screen shots of it, but it's great. Also some of the BTS stuff is great especially the one for the hairpin scene.... EP 37... I can't tell you how happy seeing them happy after the end of 36 made me. I have not watched Guardian and am looking forward to watching it with you.

2021-11-01 01:18:04 +0000 UTCA few comments on ep. 35 before I watch the next one: Not gonna lie, the absolute barbaric way Cao Weining died was just as shocking to me as it seemed to be to you. And then watching A'Xiang go feral, knowing that she most likely couldn't beat someone of that guy's caliber ... ugh. BAMF A'Xiang rocks, but damn, watching your reaction just made me sad all over again. The thing with hands is ... a thing. So, remember in ep. 1 when Kexing first saw Zishu enjoying the sun? Yeah. Something I noticed for the first time: The last time A'Xiang refers to Cao Weining, she calls him "idiot". The first time Kexing sees Zishu after that moment, he calls Zishu "idiot". There are so many off-screen deaths that we deserved to see and probably would have if there hadn't been so many cuts due to budget. That said, I'm not sure I could take much more shock and sadness. There is fantastic fanart out there from this episode. Kexing and A'Xiang, A'Xiang and Cao Weining, and one that I didn't know I needed until I saw it of Zishu carrying Kexing out of Ghost Valley. I am so ready for another Google doc to add these to!

2021-10-31 23:28:19 +0000 UTCYou're one of the few people who agrees with me on this. I keep saying Ep. 36 wasn't a bad ending even without Ep. 37 because YBY made it pretty clear no one was dying, that he was there to help, and that it was the genuine willingness not the actual dying that was key (YBY's smile giving that all away)
2021-10-31 22:49:21 +0000 UTC!!!!!!!! Have you seen the Cadillac ad yet?? Because you really really have to!!! So many good feelings!!! https://youtu.be/uhuBDNiia_M
2021-10-31 20:25:03 +0000 UTCThere's also more healing for the Episode 35 pain in one of the extra chapters of Faraway Wanderers, which is foreshadowed in Cao Weining's dream in Episode 17. I like that the screenwriter, not being able to add the chapter because censorship, still managed to sneak it into a dream. Re. WKX's dream in this episode: it is meant to be a sort of visitation from the other side. The cup of tea Gu Xiang offers him is symbolic of the real Meng Po Tang: the soup which old lady Meng offers to souls after they die, which is meant to make them forget their previous lives in order not to be bogged down by whatever hurt them, and they will reincarnate without attachments. WKX rejects it, showing he's not ready to die, yet.

2021-10-31 20:17:00 +0000 UTCI love Jin Han SOOOOOOO MUCH, and I went all out defending him on mydramalist before I got tired and decided fuck'em if they can't see how good he is in this role. Though to be fair, there were a few who agreed with me when I said one of the reasons I like him was because, and I quote myself, HE THICC. To be less shallow, I love his character in JJL - that he's such a kidder and doesn't take himself so super seriously. Though I do think that whoever did his hair needs to never work in hair again. His best hair was his prison hair. (also in Twisted Fate of Love: best Jin Han Hair Game) Jun JiuLing herself was an amazing character too - I loved her calm competence most of all. She was amazing. My only caveat about the show was that whoever worked on the post production and editing of the season finale hated the show or was hired/forced to sabotage it, not just cutting it down to 36 minutes but messing with the entire episode. Honestly, I have to end it, in my mind, on episode 39, and then imagine the rest: I have a perfect ending in my head! But I don't want to spoil anyone who wants to watch it. Nobody needs to worry, it has a happy ending. But it ends so ineptly, you wonder who was bribed/coerced into doing this.

2021-10-31 14:08:20 +0000 UTCi just rewatched your reaction to ep 37 where you said "foreplay in front of kids". actually.... you're not wrong this time 👀 cuz even in the novel (extra chapter 1) they were indeed fighting on the snow mountain every day for the sake to decide "WHO'S GONNA TOP" 🙈 even Cheng Ling used to pay attention to their "sparring" in hope to learn their fighting style but the fighting included rolling on the ground and the movements were not gracious at all so he stopped paying attention. Prince Qi had enough with their antics that he urged Wu Xi to arrange their departure back to Nanjiang earlier than they've planned 🤣 i really love how the scriptwriter inserted bits from the novel (Faraway Wanderers, even a lil bit from Lord Seventh) to the show.
2021-10-31 13:34:55 +0000 UTCYeah, I caught that in a recap and basically went WTF?!? You sick old f*ck!

2021-10-31 11:26:54 +0000 UTCOoooh, realised I had more to say! So their ending playful fight, where they look so adoringly at each other? It's a mirror of their flirt-fight in ep 6, except in that fight their hands miss connecting with each other, and in the ep 37 they connect in the light for the most gorgeous gay ending shot ever. I LOVE so much how unapologetically queer they made it (and the uncensored lines are VERY explicitly queer). They took such a risk in every way with this show and did it on nothing and I love them for that. For me, The Untamed was great, really enjoyed it, it was my gateway drug to this wonderful world of Cdrama, but I read MDZS before I finished watching it and so for me, MDZS is absolutely far and away the superior telling of that story. I don't know if you've read it all yet, but the whole climax in the Guanyin Temple hits so differently and is SOOOOOO much better in the book, not to mention how unbelievably sexy and wonderful Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian are together in ways they couldn't possibly have been in the show. So for me, because Word of Honor portrays Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu's relationship as so beautifully textually queer, as opposed to the subtext of The Untamed, and because of the themes and the tenderness and Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun (both of whom I completely fell for and love, separately and together, and I believe they are really together in real life), Word of Honor ranks above The Untamed. Word of Honor gave me so much as a show; it's more than just a show for me, it's an outright obsession. I'm in the middle of watching it for the third time, not counting watching it along with you, and I love it more and more every time. Noticing the details and the nuances and appreciating the themes and picking up on the way they've incorporated symbolism and poetry and how the various stories mirror each other throughout, god, it just gets more and more wonderful and gives me so much joy every time.

2021-10-31 08:01:37 +0000 UTCWhat a journey!! I am glad to have experienced it with you again!! I am very excited to see you react to the concert. I haven't watched it again since August. But I think I am ready and it will be a trip to see your reactions to everything. But unfortunately the version of the official version of the concert available online now has cut off some parts. Basically the bits were the cast was being a bit too suggestive and overboard with how much they ship Wenzhou and also the real actors themselves (they are VERY SHIPPABLE) The cast really wasn't being subtle I tell you. But no worries, the fans have the cut off versions and it's literally everywhere on youtube and pretty much on all our Google drives. It would be great if you could watch the whole thing. I saw the concert on the livestreanlm and let me tell you. It was the best fucking thing ever. It was two days of absolute happiness and nothing else. (The content of the concert on two days are different btw. A few of the songs are same but literally all the games and everything else is different) It was the best wrap up we could have asked for. And it was obvious how much all of them (esp zzh and gj) loved this show. I hope that you would also react to the theme songs. At least just Gu Meng (a-xu's song that was sung by zhang zhehan) and tian wen (the opening song which is so fucking epic. I suggest watching it before the concert actually) But then concert has zzh and gj version of the tian wen...whic is pretty epic as well. Also looking forward to your reactions of the behinds too!! The behinds (esp the ones behind paywall) are GOLD. There are also a lot of leaked ones which makes me really wish for that discord. They are sooo good!! Personally for me, woh ranks much above untamed. Mostly because this drama helped me so much to keep myself sane during this year. It just gave me so much happiness and it's been 6 months and I am still not over it. Fun facts: 1. Fans of the drama joke that we also live in the mountains with Wenzhou. We call ourself mountain people (Shanren) you will hear that name mentioned in the concert too. Thats how the cast refers to us haha 2. The actress who played tragicomic ghost made an edit where it looks like she is officiating the Wenzhou wedding. (https://youtu.be/D2fYSiIqmkY) She posted it on weibo (chinese social media app) and it blew up and began trending. Shanren got scared af thinking this will get noticed by the officials and the drama will be taken down. So we started posting posters with Chengling in it, saying this is the story of a boy named Chengling and his hardships 😂😂🤣 Shanren were also spamming pictures of caoxiang to not get the drama in trouble haha. 3. The city were the concert happened was literally overflowing with word of honor stuff. Buses, helicopters, drone shows there were sooo many support projects from fans of woh, zzh as well as gj . Hotels were giving out Wenzhou posters to guests haha. People who lived in the city thought there is some big gay wedding happening of some really rich couple hahah (there are pictures on both twitter and Tumblr. You gotta see it)

Can't wait to watch Guardian with you. :-) Be sure to check out AvenueX's explanation of the ending. Yes, they were basically making love in the circle, to save each other. This fun is forever in my heart and this show has created a whole new way to dream about men. I loved every minute of your show.

2021-10-31 03:51:30 +0000 UTCOn ep 35: OH! I had to experience this with you. The power of this episode is probably why I wanted you to see it so strongly (and another certain episode). I had to pause the video while I'm deep in my feelings. Sorry you were spoiled for the deaths. Maybe I'm sadistic, I don't thinks so, but Wen Kexing laying Ah Xiang beside Cao, putting her crown back on, and covering them with the red veil, is probably one of the most alluring, exciting, series of tragic shots ever put to music. His beauty is off the charts, in all that red, and I just want to rewatch him going nuclear and laying his baby to rest over and over again, because it grips my full attention and doesn't let go. I feel his broken heart, I'm here for it, I LOVE what Gong Jun gives as an actor in these scenes. His performance is delicious! It's so gratifying to have you watch this with us!! This is beauty at its most powerful and painful, and is what makes this show a masterpiece. Thank you for getting us this far, and taking us further.

2021-10-31 02:32:08 +0000 UTCAs ever it was so delightful to watch your reactions! A few things worth noting: the final monologue from adult Chengling is heavily censored, but you pretty much got it right; because they had the "same heart" aka the same kind of love for each other, they were able to both become immortal by feeding the qi back through each other, something which, sadly, Ye Baiyi was not able to do with Rong Changqing because they *didn't* love each other the same way. So instead Ye Baiyi passes that power on to Wen Kexing, after making sure that Wen Kexing loves Zhou Zishu so much he would die for him (Zhou Zishu already proved to Ye Baiyi that he would die for Wen Kexing in ep 27). So, yes, they are immortals and probably somewhere on a mountaintop right now being gay. :D I don't know if you picked up on it, but the avalanche wasn't a natural one, Zhou Zishu planted gunpowder on the mountain and pulled a Mulan, basically, except that he expected to die along with everyone else. And a final note which is somewhat cracktastic but I enjoy it: one of the symbols floating around them as they did their dual cultivation was the one for "giving birth," so the speculation is that Nain Xiang is not Chengling's daughter but Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu's through the power of mpreg (though she could be adopted or Chengling's daughter as well). In any case, Xiaolian marries Duan Keng and their son is the little boy practicing martial arts in the end scene (he's actually practicing the 18 Moves of Qimeng, Wen Kexing's family's skill). I love that they just threw that in for some fun fannish speculation, might as well! :D

2021-10-30 23:51:01 +0000 UTCI watched WoH on the official platform as it was airing, and was there for the horrible few minutes when our promised happy ending didn't materialize at the end of 36. And then people started spotting that there was an epilogue available for purchase. :') So, it was wonderful rewatching the drama with you (for the nth time, but who's counting), and I'm really looking forward to watching Guardian for the first time along with your reactions! In my personal ranking, WoH goes above The Untamed, but some of that has to do with genre & theme preference and with how badly the odds were stacked against WoH. Simply put, they're both great shows that wholly deserve their fame and recognition, and it's great seeing more people get into them. :D (A bit of outside context about reception, btw- On the harsh imdb-style site, douban, WoH's rating is an -incredibly- high 8.6, and The Untamed's used to be a just slightly lower 8.2 before some anti-fans forced it down a bit. Both scores are amazing achievements for low-budget, non-mainstream web dramas, and say a lot about how beloved these two shows are ...And now I noticed the WoH concerts are rated 9.5. Yes.) Finally, as some others here have mentioned, YBY tricked WKX. His expression after getting WKX's answer to the "are you willing to die?" question says it all. Sometimes, the power of love really is enough. <3
2021-10-30 23:34:54 +0000 UTCGod the hairpin thing. Even the martial arts moves by the junior disciple, by WKX and ZZS in the bonus ending reference the rest of the series. Your emotional reactions to everything from both episodes+bonus are completely spot on. So much happens to one episode it's hard to react to it all! I also love your commentary on their robes.

2021-10-30 23:30:23 +0000 UTCThis is it. I can't believe we've finally reached this point. How many weeks has it been since you first started watching WOH? It felt like forever but at the same time like yesterday. Thank you so much for this journey, it has been so much fun watching you react to this series. I watched your The Untamed reaction series first before jumping onto this one and you're honestly such a joy to see! I haven't watched Guardian yet but I think I'll watch it along with you! I can't wait to see you react to the concert next week and perhaps the other WOH related contents out there. I fell into such a deep rabbit hole of variety shows and interviews of the two main actors... they are adorable! Maybe when you have free time you can watch this redubbing of ep 36. The original script explained perfectly how WKX managed to survive being the furnace but it was too gay (you've hit the nail on the head by saying the power of gay was what saved them) so they made Chengling say completely different things by the time the show aired. Bonus WKX's "ai ni" to his hubby :') https://www.reddit.com/r/wordofhonor/comments/nd30a5/cfans_fixed_censored_dubbing_in_key_scenes_from/ Although I no longer support AvenueX, her poem analyses and lip reading videos are very insightful. So check those out as well when you feel like it. Thank you again for the wonderful reactions! Can't wait for the next series!
2021-10-30 23:27:40 +0000 UTCI've made a little google doc for extra woh content! I made it public so anybody can add more if they want. Really think you should check this stuff out after the concert, they're super worth your time. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dGQlAY-6RybnPqUhNql1fcktJupWEAwXKjdnezk0TVA/edit?usp=sharing

2021-10-30 22:38:43 +0000 UTCSo there's a little theory that some have and I really want to share it. So when Ye Baiye wakes up Kexing, he asks if he'd be willing to give up his life for Ah Xu, right? And then if you notice, Ye Baiye looks very pleased at Kexing having agreed so quickly. So the theory is that it would not have worked like it did (either in saving ah xu or in kexing having survived) unless kexing was completely willing to give his life. Also, Ye Baiye gave his cultivation to Kexing after having asked this,, to help ensure that it would completely work. Ps. In my mind, Scorpion King is living a happy like with someone NICE and has made up for everything in his past

2021-10-30 22:36:37 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed this ride with you! Rewatching the show together with you was a blast. It gave me something to look forward too and considering everything kept my heart from breaking every time I think of it as a whole. Now that it's over I'm a little sad but I can still come back to it so I'm not entirely in tears yet. I love Wen kexing and Zhou zishu as characters so so much. As a story it's not as intricate as the untamed for me so yeah I agree with your assessment there. It's still so so good but just. Different... yeah. It really depends what you want out of your watching experience. It still has such a special place and will forever have. And watching you experience it, especially these last few episodes was so enjoyable I can't believe it. I rarely have anyone I can share these shows with so to have you (and all of you) to enjoy them with makes me all warm. Ah I'm getting emotional. It was just such a good ride guys. Thank you so much. 💜

2021-10-30 22:36:30 +0000 UTCOkay, wow. This has been… a ride. I’m happy you liked the show! Though I would also put it below The Untamed in a ranking, it’s still very good and unbelievably gay. I haven’t watched Guardian yet myself, and I’m not sure how much time I’ll have the next few weeks, so I may be behind on those reactions. But then again, I’ve been meaning to watch it for a while now and you reacting to it will probably be the thing that gets me to do that!

2021-10-30 22:01:59 +0000 UTCSide Note to Everyone: Not a Gaywatch thing, but I HIGHLY recommend the CDrama "Jun Jiu Ling" (it's on YT), It's a really enjoyable story and romance, but also, now I'm promoting it because some Chinese viewers are 'ugly'-shaming the lead actor. (He's not ugly, he's just not like Xiao Xian or sommat.) He apparently usually plays bad guys and so people are mad, which is pissing me off, (not at all because his character is like my perfect guy - supportive, non-toxic, emotionally mature, not afraid to cry...), and even if he were ugly, wtf...? It's a really good show too. 40 episodes - a Princes goes in disguise seeks revenge and tries to save the country. (Cause she's a badass too.)

2021-10-30 21:43:30 +0000 UTCGuardian was recently re-posted on YouTube about 3 months ago. Some episodes of older postings have some sound issues. They've fixed them in this new playlist. (Idol Cruz posted it, I believe). Here's the newest playlist- https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLM2r39Q7yWFhN4ktxTQ28ZeRKewoygtO9

2021-10-30 21:38:22 +0000 UTCI figured out the hair pin thing kinda early - like, episode 20 or so. It was because of one of the posters. The poster where they're wearing the red and blue robes, Ah-Xu is wearing that hairpin. I thought, okay, maybe that's a mistake they made or maybe it's something he's going to be given later. But then we found out there's a key. And then we go into a flashback of baby Wen KeXing, and he's wearing THE SAME HAIRPIN. And I was like, okay, so his parents died, and they had the pin so it's presumable that he had the pin and the Ghosts would've searched him, so....... But I wouldn't have paid that much attention to the hair pin if I hadn't been drooling over that poster so long and noticed the detail. It must be important to the plot.

2021-10-30 21:28:18 +0000 UTCMe, anytime I watch episode 35: Okay, but how about this: A-Xiang, Weining, his shishu and shixiong and the girls of ghost valley are all alive and well, and Mo Huaiyang is rotting in hell. How does that sound?

2021-10-30 21:22:45 +0000 UTCThat's Cheng Ling's adopted daughter. Yes he named her after big sis. And Gao's daughter married 1st deciple dude, and that was their son practicing in front of the Immortals.
MavenCree
2021-10-30 21:18:15 +0000 UTCSo basically, Ye Baiyi gave WKX immortality (the 6 cultivation thing). So when performing the transfer, it would burn up a normal person, but because he he got the Immortal button, Ah-Xu was able to save him in return. So they had both the 6 cultivation thing AND the Yin Yang book. Yeah, they'll be fine.

2021-10-30 21:10:48 +0000 UTC35 I was spoiled by an Instagram post about GX and CWN's death before I start watching the drama so I knew that the babies were going to die. I just did not know when or how this was going to happen Their death is more painful to watch than what I expected, remember how excited they were to open the gates, and how Weining ran towards that monster💔 The first sign that something is off was that uncle master Fan and senior Mo where not there. The people who got to spend time with Xiang are the ones who are not showing up for the wedding. RIP uncle master Fan, you were a good old man and we all know what this show does to good old people Mo Huaiyang caused more damage to his sect than what Weining could ever do. He killed the elder, took his disciples to die in the valley and got killed. Does the sect even exist after this ep? Queen Tragicomic died off-screen!! I refuse! Yu Qi feng: bruh why are you here! You are right Scorpion is definitely jealous
2021-10-30 21:00:50 +0000 UTCA comment on 37ep youtube video by Cocomo: "In the original script that later got redubbed cuz censor, Chengling explains how Combined 6 Cultivation only works when both practitioners love each other wholeheartedly. If you do not love and trust each other wholeheartedly, there is a high chance of qi deviation (death was never mentioned in the original script). And so that's why WKX didn't die. He and ZZS both loved each other. That's why YBY had to test WKX's feelings first and why he smiled when WKX didn't hesitate to answer he'd die for ZZS. YBY tricked WKX (bc he's a troll). After all, when he kicked open the door to revive WKX, the first thing he said was, "No one is going to die." This also explains why Ye Baiyi and Rong Changqing did not manage to both survive the process of practicing Liuhe Xinfa ; they were soulmates, but they did not love each other the same way since Ye Baiyi's romantic feelings for his zhiji were not reciprocated, and eventually Rong Changqing must have qi deviated." ..... So our gay grandpa looked at these two idiots and said "I couldn't have my homortality, but you two better do!"

2021-10-30 20:49:17 +0000 UTC*Inhaling: AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! It's over!!!!! T.T ♥♥♥♥!!!!! Okay, okay.... let's get this pin (literally, haha) out of my comments, I held back for seemingly ever :D The moment they mentioned a key and the Zhen couple having had it, I was like: It's the fucking hair pin, right? Because we had the flashbacks to WKX'S childhood at the same time and he had that same hair pin in his hair, the one he always wears, except for when he is dealing with the Lake Sect people (who could potentially recognize it?). The one thing he kept through his childhood in Ghost valley, were he probably wouldn't have been able to hold onto anything key shaped, because they were after it as well. And then, and THEN! The fu**ing pin gifting, marital ceremony thing!!!! Of course, the censors couldn't delete this, it was a "key" item, important to the plot!!!! Which is just genius in and of itself!!! ♥♥♥ And Then!!! They tried to fool me with all these bronze keys, which were intricate but strangely so unfitting compared to the glazed armor. But they started to make me doubt myself for a bit. Because it stood to reason that WKX did regain the key after he took over the Ghost Valley and defeated the old king.... You should have seen me whooping in front of my TV when it was finally confirmed, I was so obsessed :DDDD (I started writing fanfiction about this series because of it, despite my WIP's...) It was a good thing I was alone at home, I probably would have been admitted by any witnesses to my insanity. So, yeah. That was me. Finding out about the pin. On another note: can we all just agree, that the beginning of episode 35 was a fever dream and our lovely stupid straights are now happily married opening a sweets shop together? Yes? Thank you. (I mean, come on! The greed of that bastard! He killed his martial brother (our dear uncle Fan) and his own son for what? because they protested his plan to crash the wedding for the glazed armor and killing everyone after they achived a truce? Because they were decent people, who were starting to come around to accepting Cao Wei Ning falling in love and being happy with Gu Xiang? I absolutely agree with WKX: his death was too easy. I was bawling! The whole episode! And I don't cry easily!) Thank you for this wonderful journey! ♥♥♥ I had an absolute blast rewatching this wonderful series with you and watching all you reactions to random decorations and beautiful plot-twists! Your theories were fantastic all throughout if they were right or wrong and I was laughing and admiring in equal measures as someone who'd already seen it. ;D So, again: Thank you! ♥ I'm looking forward to all the future content, especially Guardian!

2021-10-30 20:49:02 +0000 UTCi really just volunteered myself to cry again with you 🤣 and i love that you spotted Cheng Ling's daughter's name. her name is Nian Xiang which means missing/remembering Xiang 🥺 bcuz he loves his jiejie so much. also Nian Xiang has the same hairstyle as Ah Xiang in one of those episodes.
2021-10-30 20:48:05 +0000 UTCAnd that my friends, is how you get away with the wedding/hairpin scene in episode 31. By making it such a pivotal plot point that even the censors couldn't censor their way around it. Pure genius!

2021-10-30 20:37:33 +0000 UTCI believe the lack of money came into play with all the off-screen deaths and people telling what happened instead of showing. Also it seems like there would've been more of a side plot about Ah-Xu's father, as his mentions sort of just get crammed in at the end there.

2021-10-30 20:33:20 +0000 UTCEpisode 37 was separate due to censorship laws, not lack of money. They're not allowed to show a gay couple together or happy together at the end. So they filmed it and then put it behind a paywall. Just one of the many things this production has done to sneakily bypass the censor police. (See Avenue X for more.)
