Even though it wasn't Freddie, Will did "progress to cannibalism" tho because I'm pretty sure they ate Randall. Hannibal would have been able to tell if it wasn't human and we did see the freezer right before...

Will actively choosing to throw away the gun and instead kill Randall with his hands—which is far more intimate and brutal—says a lot about both his capacity and desire for violence imo. Not to mention the fact that he imagines Hannibal in Randall's place. I also feel the need to point out that in all of Will's murder fantasies, Hannibal is shown to accept or even take pleasure in whatever violence Will is enacting on him. Will doesn't ever imagine Hannibal cowering in fear like you'd expect from a typical revenge/power fantasy. Instead he imagines Hannibal telling him he loves him, or grinning up at him through bloodied teeth, or simply looking back at him, calm and accepting. I think Will wants the intimacy and catharsis of enacting violence on Hannibal, but not for him to actually die. His fantasies never include the moment where the light goes out of Hannibal's eyes, just the violence leading up to it. The moment he has to actually kill Randall Tier, he dehumanizes the vision of Hannibal in his mind, turning him back into the Stag Man before snapping his neck. God, the intimacy and tenderness of the scene where Hannibal washes and bandages Will's hands while whispering sweetly about murder kills me every time And the way they openly flirt at the crime scene afterwards, Jesus fucking Christ. The queer audacity. The utter shamelessness of it all. They're just out there talking dirty to each other in front of God and everyone. Meanwhile poor Jack is standing in the background looking at them like "Fucking really?? Right in front of my salad???" They're gonna make him homophobic and honestly that would be fair bc Hannigram truly don't deserve rights😂😂😂 Margot 100% chose to sleep with Will bc he radiates soft butch energy. No, I do not take constructive criticism. Listen, I need to talk about the layers of Will's fantasy during the fivesome sex scene, bc I'm an insane person who obsesses over stuff like this. Also, full transparity, I'm quoting a Tumblr post here. The sex scene spirals like a nightmare from the actual physical object (Margot) to the acceptable fantasy (Alana) to the forbidden/most wanted object (Hannibal), so daunting a desire, Will can only acknowledge it through a complete and fantastical otherness (the Wendigo figure). It is SO important that Will’s point of view in the sex scene peels through all these layers in that order—first Margot, then Alana, then Hannibal, and ultimately the Wendigo, back to Alana lying between them in bed, to Hannibal and Will, to Will alone in daylight. It’s literally the going down to the basement of desire and then crawling back to everyday reality once the night is over. (I'd also like to point out that Will reaches orgasm as he looks at the Stag Man, who obviously represents Hannibal, but who I'd argue represents Hannibal's dark side specifically. It's the personification of the Ripper, of Hannibal's capacity for murder and violence, and that's what Will thinks about when he's having sex. Hell, it's what pushes him over the edge. So yeah, do with that what you will🤷🏻♀️) The awkward dinner party with Will, Hannibal, and Alana is so fucking funny, I'm losing it. And once again, the tenderness and intimacy of them cooking together and then eating while talking about murder and morality is just *chef's kiss*
