PATREON EXCLUSIVE: Why Are My Last Few Videos Like That?

An attempt at a look into the complexities of conducting sociopolitical discourse in the social media era, as well as an attempted re-clarification of my intent with those last few posts.

FWIW I think you were very clear from the start, and I completely agree with everything you've been saying 👏

Nicole

There is now definitive proof

Rose

You’re solid on this. Carry on!

Schmiddles

I honestly don't know how people are giving you any backlash over this. It seems pretty logical to me. In my mind I think of it like a detective going to a crime scene like a murder, a rape or a burglary. They're going to look in the general vicinity of that crime scene to see if anybody around them have been accused of a murder, a rape or a robbery. Those are going to be there first suspects and highly likely the culprit. When someone has consistently lied and cheated their entire life, it isn't far-fetched to believe that they lied and cheated again to get what they want. I understand people want 100% irrefutable evidence before any accusations are spread. But I don't think you're accusing anybody I think you're just being logical about this.

Melena Codekas

I mean, you were abundantly clear about this in both of those videos 🤷‍♂️

Scott Phillips

Ppl that are pushing back on you for this aren't paying enough attention.

Ryan

Its crazy to me that people on our side still struggle with basic explanations and breakdowns. Your videos are thoughtful, accurate and well explained. I seriously don't understand the struggle.

Anthony Ocean

When the opposition lies with impunity and willfully investigates us every year that they have power with literally 0 evidence or findings …then the burden of moral legal and intellectual integrity has been lifted by their corrupt actions and we have a duty to defend ourselves and respond regardless of the hand wringing and legalistic whinging

Chairdevil

Meanwhile those of us with even a shred of media literacy are in the back waiting for the others to catch up so the teacher can move forward with the lesson….

Eugene Ryan

Love it! Now I’m gonna go watch this documentary and THEN the reenactment lol

Ashley Moon

Or I thought about posting it lol, because I can't find my alleged comment 🙃

You’ve been pretty clear, in my opinion. I think part of the problem is that Dems are so married to respectability politics that there’s a deeply rooted fear of being seen as radical. Because of the well poisoning you mentioned in a previous video, it’s hard to even start a conversation like this. Republicans have no principles, Democrats have no spine. Fuck, man, at least you’re trying. I wish I could be hopeful enough to think anything could come of it, but seeking truth is a worthy end in and of itself.

DiamondClovr

You're 100% correct to be raising these questions and actually focusing on the REPRESSION of such discussion.

June Taylor

I think I mentioned this a few videos ago, but the backlash feels a lot like muscle memory from decades of leftists defending the voting process. The right has been screaming voter fraud for so long, for so so long, and as an excuse to push heavy handed anti voter policy, that I am 100% not surprised that this is the response.

omniscitoad

You don't need to apologise to bad faith folks

Rose

Could there have been cheating? Yes. I don't think it was vote tampering, though. Voter suppression and deliberate misinformation are more likely causes. It's interesting to see footage of people who volunteered at polling stations with a stated goal of sussing out vote tampering, and they almost uniformly agree that the voting process is secure and unlikely to have opportunities for the alleged destruction of ballots, etc., including the verification and storage of ballots. We're seeing cheating in real time, with gerrymandering and ID laws. It harkens to intelligence tests for Black voters in Jim Crow. It wasn't about intelligence, it's about who they were likely to vote for. That's what cheating looks like in these elections. Now, 2026? 2028? That's where you want to worry about bald-faced cheating.

Christine Emberley

I don't think we have anyone with any power to fairly investigate it. But I totally understand why you posited the idea. With republicans, every accusation is an admission. And they constantly accuse the left of voter/election fraud. And Elon's conflict of interest doesn't help. You have been very clear that you're basically just curious and far from having any certainty. Your content is amazing.

Pelicans are my favorite dinosaur

You have been extremely clear about the fact you are simply trying to start a conversation. A conversation that needs to happen, in my view. I think the idea that Trump cheated is not only possible, but likely, and it's shocking to me that people don't think that. Regardless, you have been poignant. I don't think the way people are taking your words is your fault, some people simply disagree that it's a possibility.

Sethicus

Please don’t keep wasting your time, Austin. People can either agree or disagree with the premise of needing an investigation, but you’ve been crystal clear from the start and people simply aren’t giving your words due diligence. Your time would be infinitely better spent doing an episode on the Michael Peterson case which is fascinating.

Johnny 5

I’m with you 100% here. I don’t think he should waste another minute of time on explaining himself to people who refuse to listen and don’t simply have a fundamental disagreement with the premise. I’d much rather have a full episode on the Michael Peterson case. What a waste of time this is.

Johnny 5

You seem pretty clear to me. They're either not listening very well or they're purposely misunderstanding.

Anne

I'll sit it out. Thanks for listening to me and taking the time. I appreciate what you do.

Joel S Wilkinson

I think what we're seeing is a display of folks who probably struggled with critical processing and composed writing in school, because all of your posts are simply the posit of "why can we not collectively have these types of thought experiments', not " I am positively asserting this argument without evidence". I will say maybe to their credit and their defense maybe they themselves are not good writers so this mode of communication is not their strong suit 🤷🏻‍♀️ TLDR: you're asking for the discussion and why we can't have the discussion, you're not asserting a particular argument that would be of that discussion.

Carly

They're too afraid of being compared to Trump supporters. As you said, Trump did an amazing job in convincing reasonable people that only nut jobs would want an investigation into the elections. We're here now. Those reasonable people have probably been arguing with their stupid Trump supporting family members that they're terrified of being seen as agreeing with them or hearing, 'oh, NOW that Trump won you think the election was stolen!'

Brian Michael

I’m gonna be real I don’t get the pushback. Your words seem pretty clear to me. I legitimately don’t understand why we aren’t more open to discussing this topic. It’s weird how people filled in imaginary spaces with their own interpretations of what seemed to me like a pretty clear and reasonable discussion

Elise Nathan

It's almost like people don't listen when you talk.
