Ground Beef Lo Mein

A macro friendly lo mein recipe is probably one of the more highly requested recipes I have received over the last few months. I promise you guys, I really do listen and try to fit in all of these requests, even if it takes me a while to get around to it. But here we are.....lo mein is on the menu!

The good thing about this recipe is that the sauce is very easily modified to fit everybody's preference. Most of the ingredients in the sauce are low calorie by nature, so you can add more without changing the nutrition profile of the dish too much. Just be careful with the oil and the oyster sauce. Those calories will add up if you go too heavy with them. And although this recipe is listed as spicy, it's just a little red pepper flakes that you can leave out if you wish.

Zach — loved it! Hubby said it was good too! I forgot to get Bok Choy at the store so I just added extra yellow/red/orange peppers (because I had extra from the steak umm recipe). I think I’ll make this one again!

You can just leave it out if you want. Maybe just add a little extra soy sauce if you need it.

Do you have an alternative for the oyster sauce? I am allergic.

Friendly suggested edits to the printable recipe: Rice wine vinegar is missing from the instructions. Should be added to step 2. I would also love the ingredients sorted in order of application in the recipe and even grouping the seasoning into a section, or a sauce section. Purely suggestions to elevate the recipes even further. What I do is copy the text into a word doc and sort ingredients in order of addition so it's easier to get organized before starting. But don't get me wrong, love it all.

This was AWESOME! I usually don’t like lo mein or fried rice bc I find it too greasy but this was just right. Definitely becoming part of the rotation.
