Done with the script, on to recording and editing

Just wanted to write a quick update to let you guys know that I'm basically done with the script...or at least, this is the version I'm going to start recording tomorrow and then using in the edit.
It's currently at 171 pages (about 48k words), which is obviously shorter than the 218 pages (60k words) it was at when I finished the first draft.
I'm expecting more to get cut out or shortened while recording and editing, as parts are made redundant by the visuals or after I rephrase certain things etc..
Most of the chapters from the first draft (around 2/3) were in pretty good shape and only needed minor tweaking and streamlining. But a couple of them needed some *serious* reworking, including one that I had to scrap and rewrite from scratch (I had initially tackled it in the wrong way and it just did not work)
Also, while that was happening, I started putting together some of the sequences in the edit that aren't as reliant on the narration/voice-over. And while some of these are still very much in the 'early tests' phase, others are pretty close to what they're gonna be in the video. So, that's cool cause it means I'm going into this next stage of production with a bit of momentum.
So, yeah...just thought I'd let you guys know where I'm at right now.
As this thing starts to become more and more of a reality (like an actual video and not just a plan or a script), I get both more excited and more nervous. I don't know how this is gonna be received...like, at all. Especially given the context and the long silence on the channel and whatnot.
But hopefully I'll have a decent video at the end of this even if it doesn't do well or isn't liked or whatever. That's kind of where I'm keeping my focus at, for the moment. Just like I did with the other videos...
So...we'll see.
I'll put together another short update when I'm close to finishing the edit or sometime around then. Thanks for being so patient.

Are you okay? I just read your previous update and I realized I might come off as one of those creeps, lol. Rest assured I've only seen the one video, but I really love a good video essay and Coco was tops. Then I realized how long it had been and someone said that you were Palestinian and I just got really nervous. Anyway, you don't need to respond just know that a whole lot of people on YouTube are still commenting on your work and everything. Not sure if you've seen but you've got like 2.6 million views on brave, 2.5 million on Ghibli and 1.4 with Coco. People were asking about you as recently as last week. You are a great talent and very funny. I hope you're all right.
