Dan's Blog Poll for April
Added 2021-04-23 12:00:04 +0000 UTCWe're finding these blog-topic polls extremely helpful, so thanks for your feedback so far! (e.g., the recent one on "Rumor and Information" in OD&D got a lot of positive comments). Here's the new one for April. Which of these topics would you most like to see on Dan's blog next?

[Dan] That sounds neat, thanks for that! ... I assume it was also a heavy-metal dungeon.
2021-04-24 14:15:43 +0000 UTC[Dan] You know, that's actually a fair point. The interface here on Patreon does actually permit multiple-options to be selected (effectively acceptance voting). I'm in the habit of turning stuff off like that in other survey contexts when the options need to be exclusive (say, a Likert scale). Might need to think on that, or make another poll next month, but then which type? :-D
2021-04-24 14:14:47 +0000 UTC[Dan] Currently in the lead. I hope I do it justice!
2021-04-24 14:11:33 +0000 UTC[Dan] Thanks for that, interesting idea! As you might expect, I had to look up what that was. :-)
2021-04-24 14:11:08 +0000 UTCFYI, if disease evolution wins and you want to go beyond just "official" D&D rules, Lamentations of the Flame Princess and Spears of the Dawn both have pretty nice disease mechanics. I've used the former for modeling real conditions like tetanus and iron poisoning (...it was a metal-heavy dungeon), and I was pleased with how easy it was to do and how simple it was to run in play. I haven't used those rules from Spears of the Dawn, but they're fairly similar, so I'd expect comparable results at the table.
2021-04-23 16:10:43 +0000 UTCEven our polls use the dismal first-past-the-post voting. We should build an expectation for better in every instance. Acceptance or rank-choice voting are great alternatives.
2021-04-23 15:38:56 +0000 UTCI think both disease evolution and the unlocking options would be nice to see, since they're both interesting topics. However as an epidemiologist, I had to choose the former!
2021-04-23 14:13:30 +0000 UTCYou should write up the purple worm mini game as a MOSAIC Strict module.
