The Crystal's Gift (July Lore)

The Cactus Foxes can survive for an infinite amount of time, however, they can still perish and need to replenish themselves. The crystal of the desert gives life to all of the creatures there. Strange pink minerals known as Desert Rose (Adenium Obesum) often appear nearby to the crystal. 

Cactus foxes love to eat desert rose. They can sense the energy that the minerals emit. The foxes have crystals embedded into the center of their skull which allows them to locate these minerals and dig them up. 

Foxes always fill the hole with sand again to prevent any other smaller creatures from getting stuck inside. Sometimes they carry small sleds with them to bring an abundance of roses home for all. This allows the cactus foxes to discover their creativity and create structures and nurture lifeforms. 

The foxes also gather energy from the crystal by placing their heads against it. This way they pull energy from the crystal and is gifted it's wisdom. Sometimes the foxes can see the future through the crystal. 

Foxes are not the only creatures in the desert. Others come to worship the crystal and offer gifts of herbs and a sacred liquid substance known as life-water. A group of four desert owls often visit the crystal to chant songs of praise to it. They are known as the Crystal Seers.

They sing songs of glory and songs of love. Songs of praise and songs of protection. They have submitted their entire lives to protecting the crystal just as many cactus foxes have. 

Cactus foxes posses the powerful ability to captivate any being they may come across. When a being is gazed upon by a cactus fox they cannot resist the urge to look away from the center of the cactus foxes head.

One day a strange orange stranger appeared nearby to the crystal. He met with Ven and told the cactus foxes his story in the best way he could. The cactus foxes replied with their own stories. Eventually the stranger would point to the star and then to the desert crystal. For the first time the explorers of the cactus foxes realized the connection. They quickly began crafting theories.
