Chapter Four - The Star

The shockwave surprised Pai. The star had never noticed a planetary body before. It had seen many asteroids and other stars at a great distance, but nothing containing life. For its entire existence it has been drifting through space. For so long the star could only exist trapped in its form endlessly emitting energy into the cosmos.

In the distance a small blue, crystalline star came into view. Orbiting the star were many planets including the one that produced the shockwave. Another shockwave was emitted from the planet. It struck Pai violently. The energy released was felt by Pai much more intensely this time. Suddenly Pai found themselves shooting through space directly at the planet. Very quickly the star came to a stop. Pai no longer felt their body. Their consciousness had been projected. In front of Pai was a standoff between a pink fox and a strange metal being.

Dust settled around them from the shockwave. Pai could hear their thoughts and understand them even though neither spoke aloud.

“You have no right to this land being.” Ven growled at Vex.

“The debt can be repaid with our technology. Perhaps our protection.” Confidently Vex opens his cloak and begins to pull in the sand around him with his black hole core.

“We don’t need your protection metal one. Be careful of your next move. If my people come upon danger I must protect them.” Ven then slashes her claws at the air ripping the fabric of space time and jumping through the portal allowing her to teleport home. The portal quickly closed behind her.

Pai is shot back into their plasma form. What were those strange creatures. I must watch them. I must meet them. Somehow..

Fari is a small blue star of pure quartz crystal. Its vibrations throughout its form sustained by its core generates energy for its planets. Fari has been watching it’s inhabitants for many years. It knows Ven well, although she does not know of the star's observance.

Is that another star? I- I have never seen another star this close before. It has no planets. Where has it come from? I can feel its energy.
