Kennedy is one of those characters that divide the fandom, you either love her or hate her. Personally I love her, yes she is and opinionated brash and forthright potential and she is certainly no Tara, but you can she just from this episode that she really cares for Willow. She skips the trip to the desert in order to have a 'date' with Willow and seems to have taken a lot of interest in her since her arrival in the Buffy household, and then follows Willow to make sure that she is okay. And Willow seems to enjoy Kennedy's company which in my books is a good thing. Also, the acting by Alyson/Adam as Willow/Warren was exceptional/
