OC Month: Astra Girl
Added 2020-10-01 13:30:51 +0000 UTCWhen I thought of doing OC Month, one of the characters I had in mind was Mad-Man-with-a-pen's Astra Girl. Astra (or Cassie as she's known) is modeled after Super Girl, with some modifications that I think are pretty neat. She still has invulnerability, flight and enhanced speed. Her weakness comes from a meteorite crystal called Xenonite, which works by absorbing her powers away from her. Astra's costume is shade's of blue and white, with a skirt, mask and tights.
The scene I drew involves *another* Mad-Man-with-a-pen OC: Nyx! She's another genius character that appears in various Damselbinder stories and spin-off stories, like this one: https://www.deviantart.com/crimsonvlkyrie/art/Crimson-and-Astra-Girl-Lights-Out-Part-1-693356433
Nyx doesn't have any super powers except one: she's immune to chemical sedatives. So Nyx can just blast sleeping gas every which way, and then walk right through it. So my drawing is really a homage to these two wonderful characters. It features Astra Girl getting chloroformed by Nyx, with that Xenonite crystal making an appearance in the background. Hopefully I nailed the look (Mad man's probably jumping with joy right now ^___^).

Cassie's helpless expression as she gets the cloth and Nyx's enjoyment as she applies it, are great. Looking forward to seeing the completed the piece.
