General Update

Hey Patrons!  Just thought I'd give a general update on what's been going through my mind lately.  Apologies for the lack of posts in November.  I  was able to get one piece out, and I didn't charge for the month.

Starting this Patreon page back in August 2018 has really motivated me to produce a good collection of high quality art.  Looking back at what I've done, it truly is some of my more inspired work.  You guys supported me and I'll always appreciate that.  I do however, miss having my art showcased more in public on deviantArt.  I've gone back and forth lately about whether or not I should go back to my old ways, and just post my own creations on deviantArt.

Part of what's motivating me to go this route, is that life just gets so busy!  When you work full time, and have a home to manage, and daily tasks - finding time to draw art is hard!  A Patreon page requires a lot of attention, and it's unfortunately fallen lower in my priority list.  I don't want to charge money, when I am not delivering content consistently.  Just doesn't feel right to me.

But I still like making art!  I think going back to deviantArt would actually free me up to make art on my own time (when I have time).  That way, you fans can still get occasional art, and I get to relax a bit.  Patreon has pushed me to regularly put out art, and that makes me better...but I can't sustain that long term.  Do you guys see what I mean?

Give me some time to think about this.  I may try to get a piece done for December just for fun (I actually have free time during the holidays!).  For now, I set my Patreon page to "charge per creation", which means you won't get charged per month.  Don't worry, this is just like pushing the "pause button", without closing my page.  I won't be making paid posts.

Thanks for your continued support!  I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for the thoughtful words. I am definitely not closing down the Patreon, as having it gives me options if I feel like ramping up again. I'm currently pondering what to draw next, trying to find some inspiration. I think it'll be posted on DA. It'll be something I want to draw!

I understand not having time for things. My writing often feels the same way, lots I want to do, not a lot of time or energy for it depending on what's going on. To echo the thoughts, thanks for pausing the Pateron charges, during sparse months. I know no one else that does that, and frankly, I've done a Pateron or two where the person doesn't really produce and it makes me question why I still pay. So, thanks for actually caring about that, and still producing some art. I'd say, don't close down the Pateron. Maybe to get back into things, do some stuff for here and DA (same piece on both pages) and then maybe start doing some exclusive Pateron stuff again?

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I think it does feel a little like "burn out". And yes, I believe paying customers should get what they pay for! Don't know the answer to whether or not I'll do Patreon exclusives, as again, it's a question of how much time I have.

(Trying once again to post this comment, sorry about that.) I think I understand what you mean. However, before I say anything else I need to say that, so far, you seem to be the only Patreon creator that I know to actually pause the patron's memberships. While others would continue to let their supporters pay for their monthly membership without creating anything for months, you actually have the decency to pause our transactions until you create something. Its almost as if you realize that we have finite resources, haha. Anyway, I wouldn't mind if you went back to DA here and there to post some artwork. I mean, to me it also feels as if you have become a bit burnt out when it comes down to posting art at such a quick pace. Since honestly, it must get quite tiring sooner or later posting so much art on such a monthly basis. If going back to DA will help you with this problem, then that's fine. My only question at the moment is will we still have Patreon exclusive works in the future or no? Or better yet, are you planning or have been thinking about closing your Patreon? Sorry if the questions are weird, I'm not too sure how else to word what I'm trying to say. Additionally, my comment has gone on for too long now, oof. Anyway, in short, I'm sure that whatever you decide on next for your Patreon or for posting art in general, I wouldn't mind. Take it easy man!
