The different instruments and sounds (only appreciated in headphones) were unheard of at this time in the evolution of music. Brian Wilson was a master of pop production and awesome arrangement of harmonies. Mike Love's lead vocals with Carl Wilson and Al Jardine's input put everything over the top. Alex was right: Brian at the piano hearing all the other sounds in his head. Epic album.
