An Ace at Pie Day
Added 2022-03-15 23:50:48 +0000 UTCPie Day’s officially over, but TW's Ace Trappola was too busy eating pies to stay on time. :P
This one took a WHILE. At first flat, it looked like garbage to me because the eyes were wonky. But I was able to reposition them and the nose to far more closely resemble Ace. Then, I took it a step further and used the actual TW coloring for the shading instead of leaving it flat like I intended. The end result is a piece I’m actually very proud of! Hope y’all enjoy as much as Ace enjoyed those pies. ;)
I included some more WIP steps than what was posted on tumblr and twitter, so you can see just how freakin' wonky Ace looked when I first gave him the once over with my Cintiq. It took a LOT of re-arranging his face and nose, and changing the roundness of his cheeks to make him look more line with his actual in-game sprites. But much like the Idia piece I did last year, I'm very proud of the final result here, and hope y'all enjoy it!
