+216 // Missing Morgan

In February of 2016, a 19-year-old Morgan Bauer left her quiet city of Aberdeen, South Dakota for a more lively scene, down south. She caught a one way flight to Atlanta with plans to live with a man she’d met online in exchange for household chores. But when she was asked to leave and never come back for unknown reasons, Morgan eventually stopped answering her texts, calls, and direct messages, online. In a cold case that shook the state of Georgia and beyond, answers to Morgan Bauer’s disappearance wouldn’t come until roughly 7 years later in 2023, when investigators literally dug up what they called “items of evidentiary value” in the backyard of a Porterdale, GA home…

Wow! Good 'ol Newton County!!! It is a suburb of ATL but is still pretty rural and dotted with many small horse farms since it's so close to Rockdale County which has the GA International Horse Park that was built for the 1996 Olympics. Not a whole lot to do in Newton. Many of the hundreds of pasture acreage that were once cattle farms or horse farms have been sold to developers and turned into neighborhood after neighborhood with shopping centers spouting the exact same stores seen throughout Ga, same choices, different locations! Newton County is about 70-90 (if you take the back roads and avoid the interstates) minutes away from where I live. I have never even heard of this case! Thank you Mike and Invisible Choir crew for covering this story! My heart breaks for this Mom and the nightmares she must have every night! I hope there is justice for her daughter and that the remaining (suspect, perpetrator, defendant, whatever) aka, (cough, cough) bitch is sent away for life! It won't bring her daughter back but I hope she finds peace and the strength to find beauty and happiness in each and every day and enjoy the rest of her life!
