UNCENSORED - The Reading Man

In a quiet corner of Grand Junction, CO, the disappearance of 69-year-old Warren Barnes, fondly known as "The Reading Man," sent shockwaves through the community. On February 28th, 2021, when Barnes failed to appear in his usual spot, friends and locals grew concerned. Little did they know, the night before, on February 27th, 2021, 19-year-old Brian Cohee, Jr. set out on a chilling mission to fulfill his darkest fantasy — to experience the act of killing…

We had “bicycle Bob” in Edmond Oklahoma and he was brutally murdered by a young guy (21). Stabbed a bunch and hit over the head with a hammer. The guy took a finger as a trophy. Eerily similar case to this one.

As a person that was recently homeless, this episode hit hard. I'm a single disabled mom of a 15 yr old teenager and since Feb 1, 2023 until Nov 3, 2023 we we're living out of our car. The resources for the homeless in our city are stretched so damned thin that our case hadn't budged at all. We were living in Austin, Texas, one of the most stupidly expensive cities to live in but moved to San Marcos, Tx after attending a memorial for a transgendered friend, that the PDX cops are still investigating as a possible homicide before ruling her death as a homicide, (Rest In Power Rani🖤), and my community embraced us and one friend said we were going to live with her in San Marcos. She got mad at me for not calling her sooner but I was going through a LOT of crazy shit at the time finally seeing so-called friends and a family member for who and what they are. She is living in a 2 bedroom RV that she was renting to own but she and a fellow teacher are going to open their own school and she will be moving to a house on her friend's property where the school will be. So we will be taking over the rent to own payments and I will never have to worry about not having a home again. Funny how the Universe works. Anyways, you'd be surprised how many people are covertly living out of their cars in very public spaces. We were living in a Walmart parking lot, we'd get there at 8-9pm and leave around 10am-12pm. We had so many amazing people hand us money, food and cat food (we had our 2 cats with us that lived in the storm drains during the day and would be waiting for us exactly where we'd park every night, unfortunately our 15 yr old cat Winston died in my arms on Halloween night in a Lowe's parking lot). We also had intense interactions with some of the homeless population that were mentally ill but were also friendly with some in that same population. Being homeless opened my eyes to A LOT of things and I was already a hardcore Progressive that thought I had a grasp on issues like homelessness. So I ask of you, dear gentle reader, to be kind to everybody, there are many homeless people you wouldn't even begin to think are homeless that actually are and are stuck in survival mode 24/7. Everybody deserves to be treated with respect and being homeless/a sex worker/a drug addict doesn't make one any less of a human being.❤️
