In 2017, there were more than a few people registered in the “missing persons” database in Oshawa, Ontario. In a city of over 170,000 residents, it was no small task bringing resolution or closure to several of these families. Sometimes tips are presented to authorities in the most peculiar of ways. When a plumber showed up to a routine house call at 19 McMillan Drive, what was blocking the pipes wasn’t the ordinary tissue paper or debris- and the ripple effect of what was unearthed from those drains would incapacitate more than just one family, eventually sending shockwaves throughout all of Canada.
