In 2013, David Tronnes, a recent divorcee from Minnesota took a chance at love online and finally met his match. He began messaging back and forth with Shanti Cooper, a single mother of one from Florida, and a recent divorcee herself. David explained to Shanti that he was a multimillionaire after inheriting a large sum of money from his recently deceased father. After traveling to meet Shanti, David knew she was the one. He flew back to Minnesota, sold his home and packed his belongings and made the move south to Orlando, Florida. By 2015, David purchased a home for the couple in the Delaney Park neighborhood and saw the potential the home could be for their dream home. Shortly after moving in, he began demolishing the interior and preparing the 4,400 square foot home for a complete renovation. But the process began to take a toll on the couple. While Shanti herself was a successful financial consultant, David was spending a majority of her money on the home’s renovations. By 2018, just over a year after the couple wed, Shanti was beginning to experience health problems - and on April 24th of that year, David walked in their temporary living space to find her dead in the bathtub. As the investigation unfolded, it was soon clear that David had a secret…
