After refusing to take her medication, she loses custody of the child and is awarded only supervised visits with the baby. But after an empathetic family member allows her to move back in with her daughter unbeknownst to the courts - the woman does the unthinkable, spawning one of Cincinnati’s most gruesome and soul-crushing murder investigations.

This whole thing is so sad- a little digging showed all the terrible things that happened to Watkins when she was a child. On a separate note, postpartum psychosis is not talked about enough. I think more people should learn about the warning signs so as to protect these innocent babies. There are far too many cases of mothers who hurt their children within a year of giving birth.
