NRB Plays Betrayal Legacy | Chapter 3

Comments

Have to say: the hidden envelope is much more beneficial and much less "world-ending catastrophe" than Risk: Legacy's.

Dr. Judge, Private Eye

I'm confused as to when we are getting the next episode. I only subbed to watch this and not hearing even an update as to when to expect the next episode is pretty disheartening.

Jessica Pankiewicz

So are we not getting one in March?

Nerd E

when is the next one of these up?

kew

Me too. It’s such a good series.

oknotperfect

I was hoping for the 13th as well . . . I'm sure it'll come soon

Kane Austin

Will we be getting the next episode today? Please and thank you.

David Maltby

Always caught in the dilemma of watching right away, because I am super hyped for this series, or waiting to binge watch it all in one go.

Antoine Charland-Simard

Events are typically read by the player next to them, in order to add suspense. Iakes things a little bit more difficult, as the player having the event won't know what the dangers and benefits are, and so won't know if they should spend any bonuses they have. Events and omens are read by the player who gets them.

David Narum

I had to go back and watch episode 2 because this episode reminded me I'd missed the one before!

We (speaking for my gf and I) agree that the scenario seemed pretty stacked against Sully. He made the tactical mistake of sending a swarm of dolls into a room that was both already silenced, and had the cat, but mechanics wise it seems odd that the cat just obeys any player who talks to it without any sort of roll involved. Especially given it's characterization. Those two things and Sully not having the ability to bring in reinforcements until much later, pretty much sealed his fate. At least John realized and admited to half of his blunders from the previous episode (the other half being Laurie should have been taking damage the entire time he was outside - killing him off very early on) and understood that he probably would have/should have won. Wow this got too long, too quickly. Anyway, lots of fun watching them play but hopefully a bit more rules/mechanics oversight as things progress so the game plays out closer to design. Cant wait for the next episode.

Bob Tallman

Sending the dolls to the Salon wasn't a mistake, it was the right call. The difference it would've made is that Blaire wouldn't have been able to stun the one doll, giving Sullivan another die that could've potentially made the cat unable to save the attack and gotten it shooed away.

Ferret

I don't think Sullivan getting the rules right would have helped him. One inherent flaw in Betrayal is that haunts are effectively impossible to balance because different configurations would cause different advantages. I think in this specific case, Sullivan was screwed the instant his dolls missed the cat.

Brad

The odds really seemed stacked against the traitor in this one, and I was really rooting for Sully! It seemed like the cat did a lot of the work and there wasn't a whole lot needed from the players to defeat the dolls. But it also did seem like everything hinged on one dice roll which was crazy.

Emma Z.

They made it up and from what I understand of some future stuff it could be a pretty big problem.

Xeph

I miss the numbers being shown on-screen whenever anyone's stats change!

Will Seamon

That was definitely a mistake, plus the tactical error of sending dolls to the Salon, but I don’t honestly think it would’ve made much of a difference. This haunt seems egregiously stacked against the traitor, who can potentially lose without getting a single turn depending on tile placement and dice rolls.

Darinost

What decides who reads cards for who? Is it something that I missed or something they're just deciding to do, because it seems like some of these cards should be read by the people that drew them / they happen to because of the information contained therein sometimes

Micah Newby

I’ve heard Ian Livingston is lovely, Dom. Your task is to say hi at UKGE πŸ˜‰

1. A random Brooke mention. 2. An apt description of a cat. 3. A traitor that reads the rules but then betrays them (if there are runes tiles dolls go only on rune tiles and the landing tiles are the entrances to a floor) - leading to him loosing cause the dolls weren't grouped right. 4. Sully singing. All in all a fun game - but please have someone (Teri) watch if they keep to the rules. I think you have a habit of stacking the odds against the traitor.

Andreas Woetzold

I FORGOT about the new upload date so this is a delightful surprise πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈβ˜πŸ»

It's a snow day in Toronto, Canada. What better way to avoid shovelling than watch the latest installment in this great series? :->
