I know this was ages ago, but, to Teri!

Marina

12 Angry Pokemen! Guid ane, Adam.

Philip Joyce

“5 best friends” hilarious 😂 Also the different gold is because in the physical game each member of the winning team draws a gold card which has 1-3 nuggets on it. So I guess the online version tried to add that variety but it does seem a little biased.

DigitalHarmony

That’s literally the point of the map lmao tell others what it is. Or lie. But what’s the point in not saying anything at all?

DigitalHarmony

We really are all just NPCs in Teri's world! Adam, doubly so, Adam is the NPC that keeps saying that he used to be an adventurer like her... :D

Alan Griffin

If that's your experience, than that's your experience. I have only been able to play 5 games of it, but of those 5 the Saboteurs won 3. When you played were the miners working together like the NRB crew were or did they try to stop the other miners from getting to the gold first? I Ask because in the games I played it we were constantly using the break cards on each other as we drew closer to the gold. The only people that really discarded were the Saboteurs.

Jake Mears

I was speaking from personal experience from playing the game, not necessarily from the video. Even with playing the gold draft correctly this game is pants, was still weighted against the saboteurs.

David McGill

It's true that it's weighted towards the miners (the non-Saboteurs). But that's because the miners aren't really a team. They are expected to fight between themselves as they race to the gold first, as the one to get the gold first gets first pick of the points in the draft. So they should be breaking each other's equipment regardless of whether they think that person is a Saboteur or not and they should be placing dead-ends and causing cave-ins on paths that aren't favorable to what they have in their hand, they should be keeping what they see with the map to themselves. The miners might work together a bit at the beginning, but as they draw closer to the end they should be doing whatever they can to be the first to the gold. All the while the Saboteurs are working together from the very beginning. I don't want to say they are playing the game wrong, since as long as everyone is having fun and enjoying themselves I don't believe a game can be played wrong. But the way they play it does put the Saboteurs at a huge disadvantage and seems to ignore, or at least devalue, the scoring system, and that does seem to lead to a lack of enjoyment for the Saboteurs.

Jake Mears

They don't understand the scoring, that's why they keep asking why some of them are getting more gold than others (guys, it's a draft!). But I don't think that's enough to make the game good. In my opinion, disallowing face-down discards would solve it. Make people play something every turn -- oh, you have "shit cards"? Play one anyway, the rest of us will judge whether we believe you or not. Unless you legitimately can't because of a broken tool or something; then you can discard... face-up. It's weighted horribly toward the non-Saboteurs otherwise, like Laurie was saying,

Mike Hughey

Honestly one of the funniest people there is.

Rasmus Forchhammer

I'm pretty sure you shouldn't tell what you see with a map, but OK

AngerWrangler

Very carefully

Lotus

Teri is the hidden star of NRB!!! ⭐

Requiempress

Not one but TWO Teri appearances? You spoil us, Teri!

ProdigalGeek

I would love to see them play Saboteur 2. With Dom

Michael Pougher

While i can definitely understand where you're coming from, I like how instead of being just two teams working against each other it's one team and a bunch of individuals who are trying to reach the goal first. And the scoring system really shows this by incentivizing the saboteurs to work together by giving all of them the same number of points if they win, but the miners to fight between themselves to get to the gold first so they can get the most points. Boardgame Arena does something weird with the scoring though and for some reason the guys at NRB always work together to get the gold without caring about getting to it first. Judging from this episode, I don't think they realize how scoring works.

Jake Mears

That was absolutely hilarious 😂

Phil H

Brooke is becoming my favourite of the No Rolls Barred crew. A unique mind

This was so worth the fee!!!

Matthew Hardiman

About Saboteur 2: My friends and me played that, as the first time playing Saboteur for all but one of us, and out of 3 rounds, the saboteurs won the one round where we played the long game, which you'd think is bound to fail. By the end of the third round, however we had all realized that we absolutely hated the mechanic where one person can hog all the gold for themselves. Sweet irony lol

Ana-Maria Stroita

i really dislike the game, its such a bad implementation of the traitor mechanic

David McGill

I like the fact you say 5 best friends not 6.....Adam vs Holly is the feud of 2023 :)

Lee Dellbridge

Looking forward to seeing the artistic masterpieces of spiders wearing jeans on a future episode. 🕷🕷🕷🕷
