Are You Evil Ep. 17 - Isaac

Comments

Always bring up drunkeness/poison to that empath ;)

Fernando

Yup. Completely change the format... "Are you smarter than an Adam-year-old?"

Joseph Shufelt

Great episode! I hope Isaac can find some time to join in on Board Game Club occasionally, he's always an enjoyable presence! And since you specifically requested it from the comments... :P In general, if the action you take doesn't affect the previous turn in any way shape of form, I think you are completely right in trying to bring the game along! However, in the Settlers of Catan example specifically, knowing what resources are coming up next turn changes every trading decision being made. In particular, if you roll a 7, people over the hand limit are forced to discard half the cards in their hands, so everyone would suddenly try to get rid of what cards they can. It absolutely affects the game in that situation!

I'd be happy for you to go back through the NRB crew again. Just change the format. Maybe discuss recent videos in more depth with people who feature. I like hearing you guys talk to one another.

Rhys Griffiths

Yeah early on it was difficult but seemed to get better as the episode went on.

Lee Dellbridge

I was thinking now that the NRB crew is pretty much done that you could do a different podcast about botc since it's the most popular game you play. Just spend the time talking to everyone about their favourite clocktower moments and do a clocktower quiz. Call it "Tales From The Clocktower" or something.

Lee Dellbridge

Hi, Isaac!

J.R. Wall

I will say that 1. I think MTG/YGO have the same thing as chess where it's either fun since it's all the same level, or just Meta hell. 2. I sort of agree about the dice thing but in your Catan example if you know that a 7 is coming you can change your fate if you're the person whose turn it is before the roll, or other players might go "hang on I'm not buying that since that gets me over the limit".

Steve Brand

not sure if everyone had the same problem, but it was kinda hard to hear isaac in this episode. sully was much louder, i suspect because the mic was closer to him. just letting you know for future reference!

Levana Tse

Sully, How about you interview some of the NRB patreons?
