Roadmap Update: Remaster & QoL Upgrades

Hey my friends! How’s it going?
As I mentioned yesterday, today is the day to report on the progress of the next update, and this time the post will be more explanatory. 🤓

In the roadmap post, I said my goals for this update would be:

In-game:

• Update Ana’s sprite

• Polish the artwork

• Improve the flow of the scenes

Outside the game:

• Open the Discord to the public

• Explore the Steam release

• Reevaluate the Patreon pricing

I still stand by all of this 100%. Regarding in-game content, I will add that I am not going to change almost any dialogue. That would take too much time, and even though today I would probably do some things differently, I do not want to alter the story that has already been told.

One thing I am considering is adding a section in the game’s extras called “Oma’s Stories” (an extra mode, similar to traditional games). I am not sure I will actually do that. Honestly, Oma was not as well developed as the other characters, and adding her randomly to tell stories would feel forced in my opinion. It is something I need to think about for the future. Maybe I'll create a poll. 🤔

As for Patreon, it is still too early to say, but I strongly believe I will keep prices as they are, especially if we keep growing. If the number of followers and supporters starts to drop, the situation would be more concerning.

Now I am updating the in-game list by adding:

• Improved menu UI

• New configuration options

• Equalization of all game sounds

• Better code and game size optimization (fewer bugs, smaller size, and so on)

• A real tutorial instead of the intro texts at the start of the game

The first three additions are connected. I plan to balance all the sounds in the game and separate them into channels: music, SFX, ambiance, NSFW, and voices. This way, the player can adjust each volume individually. This might seem simple or obvious to some, but until now I was adjusting audio volume directly in the code, which prevented players from customizing it to their own preference. ✅

Additions four and five are self-explanatory. Players who have already gone through the tutorial once will be able to skip it when playing again.

I believe these changes will greatly improve the game’s quality of life. With them in place, I will not need to worry about this kind of work as much in the future. I know it will be a pain to wait longer for Chapter 05, but it is better to do this now than later when things are heating up even more, since we will be even more eager for new releases.
