Neglect

This time I really wanted to train backgrounds!
I am aware, that Touya isn't really in focus here - which is sad, but on the other hand I guess it's a nice overall picture? You can gladly tell me what you think of it!

Ok so, there isn't really much going on here - But I really like how the wooden planks of the Todorokis' is doing me a favor here! It's really highlighting at what angle this "was taken". I usually do a simple perspective sketch in the beginning and the whole woodwork was nothing more than a few additions to that sketch!

Like I said, Touya himself isn't really in focus here and he should not - I wanted to exaggerate how small and unimportant he is by placing him to the side in the shadows. He is making himself small too which is, to be frank, quite common for sad/crying people.

In contrast, I wanted to give the Endeavor plushie a bit screentime - It was an idea that came later to mind. I wanted to tell a bit more of a story with this piece than just it being a "nice looking" image. I was torn though, because it could be interpreted as either he destroyed it (which this represents) or it could be he is crying because it's broken... But I guess most people that'll see this are gonna get the message I was aiming for.
I thought about it for a while - would Touya really posses and/or destroy a toy of his father? I think yes and yes:

He loves his father - he's his idol. Also, I guess every other hero merchandise is forbidden because of Endeavors small ego.

But - he loves his father, would he actually destroy it? His hate was always more directed to himself and Shoto... Well I guess. Touya is known for being a really sensitive and problematic child. He has proven that he has no control over his emotions so much so, that they ultimately were his demise. He might be angry at the moment (like when he attacked Shoto) but he'd be deeply sorry afterwards. Maybe he would hide the plushie and say he lost it because he'd be so ashamed?

This is a really bright full-moon, or, maybe a nearby light is shining here too. I know this is pretty dark overall, but I really tried my best so you can see at least something! The whole terrace is roofed, so actually, it would be even darker. But maybe he is sitting right before the corner?
Either way, I added some fireflies to give the viewer a bit more to look at. This is a really monochrome image - a bit boring for my taste, but I really enjoyed this challenge and I think I learned quite a lot!
