Firstly dear patrons, I want to apologize that we are a few days late on the weekly update, but there are some things we wanted to test and make sure were working before we updated. The next weekly update should be on time and, baby, it's going to be a good one.
By the way if you aren't a patron and/or want to help support us further, please consider donating, it will keep the service always updating, always improving, and always alive. For more information on donating, including support options aside from Patreon, see: https://nina.chat/donate/
Updates:
AIM: Rendezvous (direct connect, file transfer, talk/voice chat, send buddy list, add-ins/old games) now works, but you must use port forwarding if behind a NAT/router. We'll soon have a proxy available to avoid this issue.
AIM: Warning is now implemented. Keep in mind that it's actually implemented correctly, so warning impacts rate limits and ability to sign on, so be nice.
AIM: Invisible sign on (and setting status invisible) now works in compatible clients
ICQ: Implemented missing ICQ method, ICQ 2002 should be more reliable
AIM/ICQ: You can now permit/deny users, but please report any issues along with your exact version and the exact steps to recreate your issue
Fixes:
AOL: 4.0 UK now works, though the original Welcome window has yet to be rebuilt (issue first reported by Samfox)
AOL: The error message after logging into AOL 5.0 should no longer happen
AOL: Opening People Connection on 5.0 no longer closes currently open chat window
AIM: Screenname formatting, password changing (secure only) requests no longer blocked due to configuration issue
Mail: Outgoing notices for registration, resets, etc shouldn't have delivery issues anymore thanks to new provider
General: Many other minor bug fixes
Developers, Developers, Developers:
OSCAR: You can now cut down on bandwidth/noise on your bots/clients by sending the TLV 0x0007 with value of single byte 0x01 (e.g. 0x0007000101) during BUDDY__RIGHTS_QUERY. This will disable all buddy updates.
Notice: Please use proper version names and numbers when identifying your bot/client, please do not mimic regular clients. That isn't required with our service.
Soon:
AOL: Mail has been postponed until a future release due to some extra work required
AIM: Finalizing features for AIM 1 to 5, patches for 6 - 7 (which do work)
AOL: More content from former channels will be restored
MSN: We promise, we're still working on Escargot 2.0 it's just a huge upgrade compared to the current server
