Heaven is a Prison, chapter 2 (14 pages)

I guess it's time to face the music with this chapter of "Heaven is a Prison" and how I felt I rushed those last pages. But taking it as a whole I think still feels like something more, which is what I'd like to do: More of This. I actually had a breakthrough for this Project and about how to take this idea that sprouted the oddball first chapter and make it into something worth saying with a proper finished collection of cautionary tales of belief.

And maybe Chapter 2 is a grower, cus when I finished it earlier this week, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I just, puti, spit the rest out. Why? I don't know. I was anxious to get it behind me, cus I am still of two minds about all this: finish it and work out the rest of the stories and whatever the thesis of this project was or finish chapter 2 and never look back. Put it all behind ya, KC, and just make Greatures. No one will really care and no one will get mad if you do, I tell myself to calm my overactive anxiety.

Not to disparage the fun I have making Greatures, but I often think of, you know, enjoying my life now and keeping the rest simple. All the work to do with licensing and other stuff with the dog is helpful and all, but I need to remember that I don't have to throw down as hard the webcomic gauntlet as I once was prone to. I can take my time. I can slow down. Which is a wholly new concept for me.

So maybe HEAVEN IS A PRISON is a backburner'd project for now, while I figure out the other stories and how to weave them into a cohesive Thought. Maybe instead it's time to pick back up the torch of another project I've been putting off and let the rest simmer. How many more projects do I got in me? I used to worry there was only a finite amount of ideas in the world, but maybe it's truer that there's only a finite amount in myself. Looking for the bottom, however, is getting boring. I'd rather swim around in what's left.
