patreon

just an update

Hey. Here's an update to let folks know where I'm at with this patreon. I am thinking maybe a break is needed from my work in comics and am already taking it. I haven't really worked on anything in a while, save for some normal doodling, which keeps me sane. For the first time in a while (?) comics aren't really my job. And with that freedom came a kind of overwhelming feeling of too much to consider and I have to stop and actually think about what the hell I want to do next.

Currently I'm learning how to use Blender. It's very boring, but it's something. And I'm still doing that DnD podcast with friends. And I'm always working on licensing "this is fine" as people bug me about it still, 10+ years later.

But the patreon feels like it's going to suffer the most. As I have nothing new to post. Maybe I will dig into the archive, but don't count on that. It's just a passing idea as I type this.

I feel it's worthwhile to let you, the patreon subscriber, know that this place might be quiet for a while. And if you need to bounce, I will not take it personally. I've always liked posting my work freely and I am constant thanks to those who would subscribe to see them anyway, which is where I feel the urge to tell you all this. I don't really know what to do next and we have a whole backlog of Me & You that will be posted automatically anyway, so I might as well take my hand off the wheel a while and think.

I'll still be around watchin' so don't count me out completely. And, again and always, thank you.

honestly I'm just glad I can give you dollars for the insane amount of stuff you've contributed to my own sense of humor. considering at one point you had what like, 4, 5 comics running at once years ago, having zero sounds like it's a bit overdue as long as you're happy.

Patreon to a lot of people seems to be less about the rewards and more about just being a straight up patron of the arts and supporting people to do whatever they want with their minds and i guess I'm one of those people

Alex Krastel

Jokes on you, I just upped my membership. Sucker.

KC, you have provided me so many laughs over the years, a couple bucks on Patreon once a month is a cheap price to pay, no matter where life takes you! You earned it!

Blaine Bowman

Hey, KC -- we're here to support YOU, not just to read your amazing comics! If that includes your taking a break, that's a necessary part of the artist's life. Most of us will certainly stick around. Please feel no pressure to produce; the $$ will roll in regardless. (Unlike Amanda Palmer, who introduced me to you, your Patreon doesn't charge "per Thing" -- she s always under pressure to produce, or else she won't get paid.)

Gunshow got me through a tough time in my life, so, same here.

Joe

No worries KC. If you make anything cool in Blender (which I'm sure you will) please share it. The first year or so of Blender is tough. Just hang in there.

My man, I joined this Patreon to put money in your pocket because I love what you do, and I guess in a way I love you as a person. I only wish for the best things in your life, KC.

Jeremy Wright

I joined this patreon with the express intent to support you in thanks for the hours i spent reading your comics. See no need to change that. Good luck with Blender!

Do watcha gotta. The do it some more.

Chris J. Zähller

Do what you need to do KC! I hope I speak for many when I say that we're here to support you and you shouldn't feel like it's a transaction in any way. Just in case you feel like you need to post something here, it's always great to get a quick update from you to know how you're doing or if you found a cool rock or something

Haan

Thank you for the heads up! I hope you have an enjoyable and restful break. Happy to stick around and see some cool new Me & You comics as they post. :D
