god's hands (2/20/2023)

hello and welcome back. So here's the timeline of events to catch us all up to speed:

I did that last FOA storyline "Witchwell" to coincide with the 10th anniversary of "This is Fine". It popped off and people wanted to talk to me about it. A lot! Then all the old baggage of that comic and gunshow came bubbling back, the same baggage which made me want to leave gunshow behind in the first place. Shit like "is this all I'm worth now, can I do anything longer, more personal," etc.

After I finished that FOA arc, I made those single panel comics titled "Rarer Known Coyotes" which is simply an anagram for "New Yorker Cartoons" (the files were titled as such lol). I was trying to be a bit coy while submitting a bunch of my gags to the New Yorker, but still wanted you, my patron, to see them. They did not respond for a couple of months and I simply got impatient with it. Maybe they would've liked them, maybe not, but I did not get an answer. And I made 30 of them cus................................. I am who I am.

I realized I really do like doing those gag comics like those or F-Off™ and thought that would be a good replacement on CK for them. Easier to produce, easier to share, enjoy, comment on, etc. I am thinking a lot about where webcomics are now and trying to keep them exactly where they were at in 2002 is something I just don't want to hold onto anymore. God bless my peers who keep at it.

So, CK is down for this idea! We are working it out, but going forward we'll see the beginning of this new strip called "God's Hands" and I'll put FOA behind me and maybe even "This is Fine" and leave myself more room to do Cultists!, How to Stop a Problem, poams, little zine projects, book work, tv pitches, and anything else.

I'm not an easy freak to get. I'm constantly everywhere and never satisfied. I guess the most I can offer you is that I'll keep going or else I'm dead.
