the jumping game battle royale (first pass)
Added 2020-06-04 23:10:35 +0000 UTCToday I've been working on a commission piece for an indie game being published by the Game Grumps team called "Soviet Jump Game." It's in early access now (and free), with plans to release a finished version 1.0 soon! I assume they asked more people than me, but they are simply commissioning pieces of whatever one wanted to do for the game's social media push when that occurs.
The game is a battle royale platformer. Ya jump on people to win! It's simple and fun! I have not been paid to say that, just to draw this. I do enjoy it. Maybe if a console release happens, it could be interesting to see it grow. So in the spirit of jumping, I drew several of the characters jumping on one another in a succession of being smushed. Arin is at the very bottom and their weird "sonic" character from the game comes in from off the top screen to get his victory.
This is a first pass, as I want to take it into photoshop to add effects and further edit the image and so on. Initially everything you see here has just been done in Clip Studio Paint. Might make the stack smaller, add more glitchy effects. Plenty left to do.
