Definitely feeling the daily Yu Yu posts one of my favorite animes all time. Also that swastika is a religious symbol Ichigo's bankai in Bleach also has that symbol.

However, the work of European linguists and other scholars were taken up by the racist groups you already know about. Turned it slightly on an angle and ... yeah the rest is history. You can find pictures of temples and other areas with an original swastika on it.
