You want him to grow out of being normal, and to do that he needed to be honest with himself and eventually grow out of his otaku syndrome. Episode 18 was amazing in many ways, and Subaru was extremely naive. How the characters treat him is his fault and his alone.

I understand and appreciate your thoughts on Subaru's short coming and they were true to some extent. But you can't blame the guy... he can't just up and go tell someone that he saw them die, because the person is going to be like how do you know that stuff? right? And he can't tell them that he revives every time he dies as we just saw in the episode. Because if he does the person dies... whatever he did ended up in everyone dying. Yes he did some stupid stuff to end up in that situation but that is in the past and he can't do shit to change that

Congratulations, you've finished the official prologue for the story. I agree with most of what you said about Subaru's short-comings, but it's a bit much when you're blaming his own short-comings for other characters problems. It ain't his fault that Puck can destroy the world, that Emilia is discriminated against, that there is a powerful cult out there looking for blood. You mentioned how doing different things leads to a different result, but the result was the same no matter what, everyone dies, he just dies on a different day. Can't wait for next week
