I also keep thinking of Zorak from SGC2C and studying his beak and his head and his vest and trying to replicate that in some form with Emerson's look. Maybe they SHOULD just have a vest!
Maybe it would help if I studied a praying mantis, which is what Emerson is supposed to be. Maybe I would get some kind of mind thought about it. Anyway, finally, at the end of the comic, I'm trying to.
