A joke about the amount of potential shows of affection you can trigger in a single chapter. Also, hinting at a somewhat rare kiss for those of you keen to collect them all!

September 8th

-Frosted Over 🧊⛸️🍨

J thinks about holding you closer, warming you up after your time on the ice.

"Suck it!" you exclaim. "Ha!"

"You got—" Alina takes a quick breath, her cheeks faintly red from both the wind chill and this loss. "Lucky, damn it!"

Ice skating with not one, but two Corvins plus B! This writing features J being absolutely mesmerized by your Returning Visitor's prowess on the ice before it switches into more emotional territory as you and your friend reminisce about life outside of Fernweh. This is a J POV. We'll be experiencing their complicated feelings on this matter--all of that time they missed out on with you. 😭 Also, their guilt about feeling this way! It'll be an interesting dose of platonic 'jealousy' and how J's working on being in the 'now' with you.

Also, we have frenemy A, so that'll be fun! 😌🔪

This ramble poses a question to you all!

I'll then answer it via a drop down that you can click on after possibly connecting the references across books. It highlights a turn of phrase Mr. Winifred uses that may be glanced over by most, but once you realize what he means, you may have mixed feelings.

Sweet? Off-colored? Vengeful? Mournful?

Or maybe it's not that deep... 👀

Anticipation

Like a snowflake drifting atop your scalp and melting without leaving a trace, you scarcely feel it waiting for your capitulation—for your acceptance of its often harmful 'help'. Your shoulders stiffen of their own accord before you're shrugging off this facsimile of an 'offer' by only feigning consideration.

The continuation of a story set in a dark, vampire alternate universe that still incorporates TFS's base lore. It focuses on the aftermath of the Bloodletting ceremony you stopped and a new, chilling mystery. Currently, you and J are rushing to save the next victim; however, you might find some 'help' from a few unexpected sources... Not to mention the POV switch at the end that I'm excited for! 😌 There's a lot in store during this part.

September 22nd

Once you look back at them, Mal leans in to test your resolve, waiting for your hesitant retreat to what's seemingly safe and oh-so-familiar.

Mal is going through it on Christmas! 😭 I can't say too much because this writing is longer with two different locations, but it's their POV about how they're spending this holiday. A particular to-go order forces them to confront how you're spending yours, but the undeniable connection between the two of you might give them something to hold onto throughout the cold, lonesome night. We also have appearances by: Clyde (+ Trent) and a brief mention of Bethany, the Fernweh Diner cast. 🧇 It'll be emotional!

I've collected a few snippets from various characters remarking on what they wear alongside insight into why they present themself this way. We'll get into the symbolism behind J's attire + its associated colors (or lack thereof, depending on whom you ask.) 🤔
