Lacuna Rambles/Thoughts/Gif Reacts #2: Milton and R 🚗

While this dynamic is suggested during TFS: Book One, it continues to peek through in the second book! 🚗 (Why isn't there a truck emoji?) R-mancers in particular have a better chance of catching passing comments about R's bond with Milton Callaway—from an inkling of guilt during the night drive scenes to R's conversation with Mr. Callaway during the memorium to how R actually joined the search effort rather than handing out cookies to other small details. All of your Returning Visitors either have seen (or will eventually see) how Milton behaves when R is spoken of rudely, somewhat objectified, by a group of teenagers in Turn the Page. There is care between the two of them!

It's a unique bond that both of them might not readily admit to thanks to the veil of pranks and teasing nicknames.

Still, this ramble will touch on something else: their mutual recovery.

This depends on your ending for the first book—your choices that influence their injuries (minimal, moderate, and severe!). You'll learn that R was there during the physical therapy sessions for Milton, sometimes due to their own injury, but also to provide company and a ride. The scenes vary too much for me to summarize or even tease them now. They're important though to provide more insight into how Milton's coping is going along with giving you a clear warning. 😭

You'll be impacting Milton's well-being, and R. Verner will be invested in how that goes.

This^ is beyond what happened in the sunken/lush clearing! It's more about how you engage with him since then in addition to what you might tell the gang about what happened in Turn the Page, the bullying. (I track this with a variable to better pinpoint your influence on Milton's mental state.) Just because your MC might have had a horrendous struggle against the corrupted spriggan, doesn't mean Milton's well-being will suffer. There is more nuance; it's one factor of it! This ramble draws attention to how your interactions with others will also be weighed by the gang. Let's see how it all unfolds! 👀
